*bump*

for all the new people!!

Mine is a shortened version of one of my favorite comic book characters, not very creative, but I like the sound of it. She's a strong woman.

minx~ He called me a minx once.... I am still learning to acquiesce~ to shed my willfullness (when appropriate)
I am sometimes viewed as too assertive or perhaps overzealous in my values and convictions~~ perceived as a bit pushy I suppose

and as for ethereal~ throughout my online/phone non-relationship with Him, I have gained faith in a greater good. To see through the eyes of love & shed my ego and in the process, through authentic living, I have actually became 'lighter'...physically and emotionally... in every way really.... Shedding ego (fear) to see Love in everything has been enlightening for me and I feel 'floaty' or ethereal~~ hence the name

I'm HIGH on the beauty of LOVE in a spiritual way yet I'm still struggling w/ my own ego (fears) in many ways as well ...
I will one day change the 'minx' to a nickname that fits more approriately because I do not intend to be this way forever but for now~~ this is me : ) to a T

well, i was thinking of just being "bunny" but i thought that "bondage" made an appropriatly fitting last name. that, and i really like alliteration.

It's from my "Atrocity Wars" storyline. Long story short, they're the product of military super soldier projects. Having trouble finding willing participants, due to the near 50% success/mortality ratio, they recruited from the prisons. After it was all over, and the dust settled, the times we are living in are posthumously dubbed the Atrocity Wars, and the enhanced criminal soldiers are called Cyberserkers. Psiberzerker is a Corp War spelling after the greek letter Psi was adopted to represent the elusive, and over used concept of cybernetics. For a good long while there, everything's Psi-something.

Play on words

My name is lara. But i noticed from chat that the word "it's" had become the metamorphisized "s' "

That being what i found funny at the time, i decided to go with s'lara ... as in it's lara.

S'ok ... don't laugh. Silly as it seems, i thought it funny at the time and now its a nick i've had for the last 2 years. S'alright ... i could have picked worse. Like Cleofus SnaggleTooth.

My name is Carrie...I made it carrie-on because when I was trying to think of a nic, the song "Carry On" by CSN&Y came in to my head. It stuck!

I'm a very non observant Jew who pays minimal attention to the Kaballa, kind of like some people like trains or autos or WWII stuff, I think Kabbala's kind of neat. A totally shameless, cafeteria-style dilettante am I in this regard.

Netzach and Hod are two of the Sephirot, ten oppositional pairings that are essential universal traits. Netzach, Netzah etc. means Dominance, ascendance, power, resplendence, Hod means submission, acquiescence, glory, descendence. Kind of like a Jewish yin/yang.

I use Netzach Stern as a pen name when I write FDom fiction, it has a nice, serious, Jewish ring to it, not especially femmy or frilly.

haha...

i picked mine here cause it's my hotmail email addy. I picked it for my hotmail addy because i was determined to get an email address that had no numbers in it (at the time i had an AOL account with far too many numbers).

At the time I made it I also lived at home, so I wanted an email address that I could use to show that I was submissive. I couldn't do that with my AOL account living at home.

I'm not a slave, but I guess someplace I have some fantasy to be some sort of pleasure slave or something...Guess it kinda fits...

Sparrow was one of the first words that came to mind while registering on Lit. And as I picked the name on a lark and there is an actual type of sparrow called the lark sparrow.... no history, and I don't have a particular affection for birds, but I liked the combination of words.

Richard is my name
When I registered there was at lest one Richard
and I did not want to play the guessing game over and over
so the first number I tried was 49

I chose Phoenix because I survived my crucible of fire and emerged as the legendary Phoenix does from the fire.
Prime was added when I first discovered the internet and found many other's using Phoenix already.
Been PhoenixPrime for all my years on the Net and have used it as a rt nickname within the local Lifestyle scene as well since then.

I have a degree in Wildlife Biology and Vulpes vulpes is the scientific name for the red fox. It was the only latin name I could think of that had any kind of ring to it.

Why Not Corvus Corax? The Crow...
Anyways, I chose mine because poisons (Botanical only) seem to have very little effect on me, in small doses. Nightshade is the one poison I use the most often, and to some extent, runs through my veins.

Neato, you know that Deadly nightshade was in that blue goo the Berserkers(Celtic, not Viking, or Cyber) used to smear on their faces? Thats why they where so deadly in combat, they where trippin' balls!

Hey y'all, this is a wonderful thread. It is so great to read the stories behind the names.

In my case I can't add too much to it. I just used a form of my nickname in real life. Gee and that was over a year and a half ago for chat. And over a year for the threads.

My real life name is Kathy, and I have been called Kate, or Katie or Katrina while growing up. The spelling I used wasn't taken.

I do hope everyone is having a great time. :)

Pretty self explanatory

My nickname is a variant on the same nickname I've been using for about 15 years, before the Internet even commercially existed (well, at least for most of us). I used to be a pretty serious biker, and my license plate read ENNUI, because I was. Oh, ennui is a french word/term, describing a form of boredom so severe the person wishes to expire/die. So, in layman's terms, "bored to death", which I was - and still am to a great extent - with life.

I have a low boredom threshold, so I thought it was pretty appropriate. When I started getting onto the Internet in the mid-1990s I was amazed at how many other people also use the same handle.

So, here I'm ennui01, but I've used ennui, Ennui, ennuiohone, and similar. I've almost never capitalized it, because when the Internet was first started there were so many places that you could not capitalize things, or where there was no such thing as case sensitivity. Now I run into people who automatically assume I've got to be a submissive or bottom because it's not capped. I generally disabuse them of such a notion fairly quickly, often much to their outrage (how dare I not conform to their predetermined expectations of reality, eh?). :)

I've also heard this theory, but from what I understand about the effects of deadly nightshade, it seems that any warriors absorbing it would be more likely laid up puking and dizzy. They may have been made of sterner stuff back then, but I imagine that they were "tripping" on good old mead: dutch courage; popular as a military morale booster in many cultures.

The Celts were tough, and we still are. I'm trying the stuff on me in small doses, and it's making me more immune to it the more I use it, but it does make you mad. Extremely. Mad.

!

Wonderful thread! Its been very interesting reading how ppl acquired their nics. mine is an old family name from the Old Country (Ireland). i also use it as part of my Wiccan name. Seems that there's been a lassarina in my family for about 400 years now (not the same one though-lol).

Brightest blessings,
lass

Probably a silly reason for chosing a name, but I am a very old fashioned girl at heart... so my name reflects a time gone by, when gentlemen treated women with respect, and ladies fanned themselves because under their ruffles and lace their corsets were killing them! (I love corsets too, by the way!)

Emme :rose:

Just what I need...a little fluff :) Cool thread. My nic is really pretty straightforward. Its the czech version of my name that my immigrant mother would have named me if my Irish-American father and his very obnoxious mother hadn't thrown a fit. The rest? Self- explanatory. Dark. Extremely dark. I don't look irish at all LOL.
