I think my best advice is to always remember that when you're really enamoured of someone, you're probably not thinking 100% clearly, and you will underestimate risks. So it's better to have ironclad policies about being careful about phone, Skype, Zoom, photos (especially if your face is in them), and so on. Most people are just people. A lot of people are disappointing. Some people are scary.
