🎵 Monthly Song Challenge 🎵

I think I even cried once but that might have just been a little bit of dust in my eye.

Day 21: A song from a musical

I love musicals. Looooove them. Hard to pick. I decided to go obvious instead of niche. Hamilton is so fucking good and this is the best song in the show. Leslie Odom Jr. goddamnnnn.

I fucking blast this song and belt it out.

“I AM THE ONE THING IN LIFE I CAN CONTROOOOOOL
I AM INIMITABLE I AM AN ORIGINAAAAL
I’M NOT FALLING BEHIND OR RUNNING LAATE
I’M NOT STANDING STILL, I AM LYING IN WAAAAAAIT”

Leslie Odom Jr - Wait For It

(This video cuts off the first verse. It was posted in two parts.. must be a copyright thing but I wanted to post the live instead of the studio recording)

It’s that time of the month ❤️

Oh, I like the Choose Your Own Theme variation! Damn, now I have to chose.

Day 22: A song about Family from the 60s

Lennon was a bit of a prick, wasn't he, yeah? Julian loves this song, and Julian hates this song. A constant, constant reminder that John walked out on him and Cynthia for Yoko. But it's also just such a bop 💃

The Beatles - Hey Jude

Day 21 - A song from a musical

This play gave me unrealistic expectations. Imagine my disappointment during Fleet Week when none of the Sailors broke into song 🤷‍♀️

Ain't Nothing Like a Dame-South Pacific
Good choice from South Pacific. I’ve watched too much porn over the last 40 years to ever hear “I’m gonna wash that man right outta my hair” the same way again.

Day 22: A song about Friendship, or is it love, from the 60s

Meet On The Ledge - Fairport Convention
Introduced to this by a cover, probably not the most famous or played Fairport song outside of their fanbase (where it is an unofficial anthem) and an early Richard Thompson penned one. Beautifully wistful and hopeful in equal measures.
