I had a big post written out trying to explain why I chose this song for the theme of family. I tend to overshare so here's the tl;dr
I grew up in an environment where my emotions were a burden to others. When I reached my teens in the 90’s my emotions were too big to hold in but it was still psychologically dangerous to express anything to my family.
While the lyrics of the album meant very little to me aside from a few lines that resonated, these songs were the emotions I had to hide. The discordant dirty sounds, rhythmic beat, barely recognizable instruments tortured into melody. I would have replaced his voice with pure sound and felt the music even stronger.
Tomorrow my song choice is a happier association

Firehouse is one of those bands that were just a little late to the party.. Early 90's, glam and hair were dying down and paving way for grunge, but they had a thing they wanted to do and they did it so well! But man, had these guys just got on the scene 3 or 4 years earlier they'd have been a household name.
Such a shame, their power ballads are incredible

now i am obviously not in charge, but they should designate a specific time, like 12 est for all entries to begin...its not really "fair" for for pst to have to wait 3 hours to post...a time that is fair for europe entries too...not sure what that is, just an idea of a single start time for the new day...

I have no phone service at work and was seriously waiting for my midnight time to post this song because I missed out on an earlier prompt (got me put on probation
) To be fair, it was already posted this month, so no real loss.
I’m loving the songs I get from the Europe posts and there are times a song gets taken and a new one has to get picked because of that and I’m thankful for that new song! Just gotta dig a little more and not post about my love for pancakes this month!
