Day 17: A protest song

No war to fight against, or no great cause to push. But this song is how Bon Jovi severed their ties with their record label after 30 years.

The whole album (which is by no means their worst) and was their contractual fulfillment is filled with tracks that didn't make previous albums. And this song tells it all. Bitter? You betcha!

Day 18: An upbeat song you danced to at a school dance

Is there anything hornier than a middle school dance? Maybe a Lit Prom, if it existed.

Hip-hop/R&B was blasting in the school gym and the teachers were trying in vain to separate the grind trains 🤣

As I was picking my song, of course I had to test my dance skills. I can still “dip it low and pick it up slow” with the best of them. Okay, maybe not the best of them, but I can still “pop that thing” 😜

New Order - Temptation (12" version)
ok, i never went to a high school dance... but, if i had done, i would have been the loner in the corner going ballistic as this played

their best song. I once walked miles to home after a gig of theirs ended late and sang this all the way, over and over.

up down, turn around, please don't let me hit the ground

Day 18: An Upbeat song you danced to at your school dance

Well there are a number of songs I could have used for this that would have also fit into the 'cheesy lyrics' prompt from last week because well, the 90s. But, honestly, I read the prompt and this song *immediately* hopped into the front of my mind. The album version is 11 minutes(!!) long, and well, no.
