Day 5: A cover song that’s better than the original

Two fabulous versions by two powerhouses. Idk if Raye's is better than Ella Fitzgerald's but it is just as good in my opinion and I've been looking for a reason to post this performance all week 😅

Cry Me A River
I.love this, two amazing versions of a beautiful song. 😚

Day 5: A cover song that’s better than the original

That was on my list! (I had a long list.)

I love that version far, far better than the original, and it is one of the few Stones' songs I like. And I loved how they used it on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Powerful, memorable scene.

Day 5: A Cover Song That is Better Than the Original

A little while ago @summer_reine was trying to find a cover of a NIN song, and I was determined to find it... I failed, but found this gem.

I love Trent Reznor's voice and the way he sings the original, but I'm a sucker for a slowed down version of a song by the opposite gender from the original. Also that orchestra... 🤯

There is a comment for this video that really explains why this is so good: "...this is a reimagining of the orginal..." It does take it to a whole other level.

The Hand That Feeds - stories, Amy Allen & ymusic

The first listen through my brain really did not like that

And I normally love dissonance and syncopation

I think because I listen to this song regularly my pattern recognition pathways in my brain went ballistic. Listening a second time was like magic.

This is incredibly powerful music. Thanks for sharing it.
