Okay, so this is a remix of the song I was going to pick for this prompt. In the original it makes reference to a (fictional) song called "I Miss The Old Kayne". Fandom did what fandom does best and made that song (this song) which is great.

I first heard part of this song in the season finale of Shoresy. It had not yet been released, and I had to wait for a few months for the whole thing to come out, and when it did, I just loved it.

Jared Keeso picks most of the music for his shows, and both of them have introduced me to a lot of great music. He has used a few songs by Canadian musician Art d'Ecco several times.

The story goes that the band recorded this live in studio with all members present. I'm pasting the lyrics because they are really short and fast here, but I always do a love a 'fuck corporate rock' message.

Thank you, I will post both. I ended up down a rabbit hole looking for this, and it was delightful. Let me start by saying that I love the original, to the point that a friend and I were joking that if we go to see Wheatus, can we get them to play it more than once? Yes, that's mean, and they have other songs, and blah, blah, blah.

Anyway. This cover is brilliant, and totally changes the tenor of the song. And Lizzy has a fantastic delivery and emotion. And for my purposes now, yes, it's a better version of an original that I absolutely fucking adore.
