Wondering why my hotel room has a phone in the bathroom, do they think I'll fall and not be able to get out?

I once stayed in a hotel room in Los Angeles that had a tv in the bathroom. I took a bath and watched tv two times while we were there.

Is it an older hotel? Because in the 80s, that’s where our phones were. I have no idea why, but my mother had a phone in the bathroom. There was one in the kitchen, too, but there was always a phone in the bathroom.
