🧘🏼‍♂️🤾🏻‍♀️Getting Sweaty Again: The 3rd Circuit 🚴🏼‍♂️🏋🏼‍♀️

I don’t know much about green supplements. What do you like about them? When do you have them? When did you start adding them to your diet and what did you notice once you did? Are they a meal replacement?
Definitely not a meal replacement. More a . . . veggie bump? 😂

For me, at least, it was a quick drink in the morning before food. Or perhaps mixed in a smoothie. It's been years since I've made in a practice, but my antidotal memory is that I simply felt better. Much like you do when you are on a good eating plan that encompasses all nutrients.

It's so much easier these days to find *clean* products I thought I'd like to try another incorporation.

By clean I mean gluten free, organic, no artificial flavorings, etc. Just that darn stevia that seems to be endemic! 🤢

I meant to do Sunday checkins, but went down sick for a week which has totally derailed my exercise situation. 😬

Does anyone have a recommendation for a green supplement without stevia, by chance?

@sallysparrow23 hooked me up with Earth Chimp, which has been amazing. I'm hoping for similar luck with the green.

(I've converted half the people I know to Earth Chimp. 😂)
I'm glad you're feeling better! Also super happy that Earth Chimp has been a winner for you! 😄

I don't think there is stevia in this greens blend. This is what I use in my smoothies. I also use a dropper of liquid chlorophyll.

Worst. Threadhost. Ever. SMH 🤦🏼‍♀️

Happy new week, All!

I forgot my own Sunday Sanity check in. Again. :)

This Sunday was one of those where I just needed to be quiet. I did very little. I think I’m in a bit of a hibernating mode. I’m trying to not watch too much news because, like many others have posted about, stressors are at an all time high.

So instead of news, I have started a couple of new shows lately. I’ve started watching:
Black Bird - super creepy show about a guy who befriends a serial killer to try and figure out clues of his crimes.
Under the Banner of Heaven - murder mystery within the Mormon church community
Shrinkage - funny series centered around a psychiatrists office and the main storyline is a father and daughter coming to terms with the loss of the mom/wife.
Loot - Maya Rudolf is a billionaire who has decided to do better and help others with her fortune but is struggling with that.

Are you all watching any good shows?

Yes this is an exercise thread, but sometimes you gotta just unplug, you know?

Have a good day, everybody. 💕

Blackbird was so good. So creepy, but so good.

I'm surviving, it's been a tough January and we haven't gotten too much reprieve from the icy and cold conditions. I expect some cold in the winter, but we usually get some melt and warmth. I'm still sane-ish, but it's hard at the same time.

Just finished a brutal chest day, ended on a drop set set that left me barely able to breathe at the end, and my arms and chest are shaking…

Thank you! I knew you'd come through. 😎

Reading through, I have to say, the chocolate option gives me pause.

Chocolate + green drink = 👀

I may have to order at some point, just for the novelty. 😂

So, some days are tough.. really tough. And while I would rather be able to fix everything.. and it hurts knowing I cannot.

Oddly.. it makes me even more determined to keep my exercise routine going, after all - at least that is something in my power to do.

Yes.. Working out is most definitely also therapy.

Tuesday.. let us make this a good day!

I don't taste the greens but everyone's different. 🤷 I hope it works out for you! I'm getting back into my daily smoothies now that I'm in more of a routine again.

I got a little scratched up last night at practice. I don't know who did it but I have fingernail scratches on one arm like someone was gripping for dear life. 😂 We scrimmaged last night and I fell. A lot lol. I tweaked my knee after a few tumbles so iced a bunch when I got home. Today is rest, hydrating, and the dreaded foam roller.

It is definitely a form of therapy for me as well. It's going to be a great day! 💚

I couldn’t agree more. It clears my head and settles me down. I sleep better. I feel better. The only time that I don’t feel good is when I’m trying to get started sometimes. After that, it gets easier.

Another beautiful picture of you, AND of the bird spying on you outside the window!! what a cool picture!

ouch! Somebody’s therapy was getting their aggression out on you last night at practice! Rest up today. I hope you feel better soon.

I went for a nice walk this morning just as the sun was coming up.

.. You make me wish I could go for walks with you! 🥰

In all seriousness though, the right clothing and equipment makes all the difference. It’s amazing how effective the correct apparel is.

Yes! It is not as if it needs to be the top tier brands, but something that fits the activity you aim for, and if it also makes you feel good and comfortable - then it becomes so much easier to get into the rhythm of maintaining a routine.

And there will always be setbacks, always something that makes us fall of the horse.. getting back on that horse is half of the work! 💚

I would looove to go for walks with you, Cat! You come to the US (I recommend when we aren’t a dumpster fire), and I’ll show you around!

And yes to setbacks. I’ve had about a 9 month one just now but oh well shrug 🤷🏼‍♀️

Haha.. yeah.. dumpster fire. 🙈😂 If it were not because of the extremely real and bone chilling consequences.. It could have been a scary movie..

But, it is once more "just" a case of reality being crazier than fiction.

Still, YES!! If/When I visit the states once again, we should go for a walk together!!

Yeah.. 🤷🏼‍♀️.. they happen.. The setbacks, the stagnation.. the plateauing..

It is never a smooth sailing experience, for anyone, it just differs in the way we express it. 🩵

Tuesday Sanity check? 🤷‍♂️ That’s a new thing right.

For me lately, it’s the realization that I’m not as young as I once was 🫣 and my body simply doesn’t function or need to function in the same way. Which means my expectations for what it should be able to do should also change.
That’s the toughest part for me. Changing my expectations of what I think I should be able to do. Or how fast I should be able to recover. Or the pace at which I attack the activity.

Foolishly, I’ve re-injured myself several times this year because my expectations and the realities don’t line up.
Any tips here would be greatly appreciated or simply a reminder to suck it up Buttercup and keep going.

@Lmizzler 😂 you are getting older, just like the rest of us... It sucks.. But then again:

Soon we will have the right to be the grumpy old people!!

Suck it up and adjust. 😉

Ooooohhh!!

Adjusting.. I mentioned socks a little while ago.
And, adjusting I am. 🙈

Good reminder. Thanks.

Have fun enjoying the new socks. They look awesome.

What brand are they?

Im at this weird juxtaposition of being middle aged, but also as strong if not slightly stronger than I have ever been. So I can do more than I ever have, but also get way more joint soreness doing it 🤦‍♂️
I have been doing more weights in recent years than I ever did when younger. I don’t have a body type built for bulk weight but I’ve definitely learned that weights is a crucial part of my routine now and less cardio.
