2005 Weight Loss Challenge- Winter edition

10 pounds a week isn't a safe rate of loss, though. 2 pounds/week is generally considered the best rate, a little more won't hurt, but 10 pounds is way TOO much. It may have just been water weight, though; I'm sure you'll balance out.

Yeah, that's a lot. It's not uncommon for people to lose 10 to 14 pounds in 2 weeks of very low carb diet. I'm going back to what worked for me 13 years ago. Cutting down on fat, and exercise.

So how is everyone doing? I had some catching up to do on exercise Tuesday after not feeling well Monday. And that has drained me today.

I do find that because, for now, I hate the Nordic track so much, that Pilates is more enjoyable. The diet is going well. I'll be ready for a cheat reward in a couple of weeks.

Hi WriterDom

Which pilates tape to you use. I have the Mari Winsor which I like. And the Pilates for Dummies tape.

I've been doing well with my eating the past couple of days; we went out to dinner last night and I didn't eat the whole meal (pad thai)! I brought home the leftovers and had another third of it for dinner tonight. I'd say 1/3 of the meal each time is a reasonable portion...and I have dinner for three nights!

I have several Winsors. Right now I do the advanced up to the side kicks and switch over to the bun and thigh dvd. But there are several exercises I can't do, like the jack knife and the other where your feet go back over your head. And I can't do the neck pull, but I have worked up to it in the past.

Did anyone take measurements? I think that is a better indicator than weighing. I've lost a half inch from my arse already which surprised me. And a inch and a half from my belly.

I dont want lose any inch from my tits tho !!!
I like my tits the size they are now, at my current weight, but I know they will get smaller as the rest of me does. It's a sacrifice I'm willing to make, though. :)

*sigh* Even when I was a size 9, before I had my daughter, I was still in a DD cup :(

After I'm finished having babies, Master is very supportive of me having a breast reduction. (I don't want to have one before since that might interfer with milk ducts for nursing.)

On the plus side, the jeans that were tight at Xmas now fit nicely :nana:

I'm noticing my clothes fitting better now too! And I'll be adding in a gym workout on Monday.

Way to go, Everyone!

I lost a pound last week. I wish it were more, but losing slowly is probably best for me.

OK, so how does everyone deal with cravings? I really want a huge plate of pasta with some sort of cream sauce.

Last week I struggled and didn't lose any ..

This week I've been doing much better with my eating habits. I was frustrated that I missed my workout today because work was so hectic (gym's at work). I should hopefully be able to hit the gym tomorrow though.

Hoping to stay close to the diet through Tuesday next week so I can see a loss.

Use your cravings as a reward. Every time you lose a certain amount, say 5 pounds, reward yourself.

That's a good idea, though I wonder if I need to set a higher goal (but still do smaller rewards at regular intervals). I have a tendancy to lose about 5-7 pounds and then stall out.

For those who are experienced with pilates, I saw a cardio pilates DVD on sale at Target. I've never done pilates before, but I understand it's pretty strenuous. Is it doable for someone who is pretty out of shape? I'm concerned about setting myself up for faliure.

BTW, I lost another 2 lbs this week. :)

I'm not sure how strenuous it would be. Pilates can be done on different levels. But for the most part, it's more relaxing than strenuous, though some things will give you a good burn. Think of yoga with more movement.

Yesterday, I got McDonalds. I have been insanely stressed out and decided to eat my stress.

I got through half of the meal and then realized it didn't hold the same satisfaction it used to. And I threw out the other half.

I think I'm over my McD's habbit.

YaY!

Have you tried the salads there? I like the grilled chicken bacon ranch with vinaigrette.

I can do the Nordic now for 21 minutes straight. A big change from Jan 3 when I could only do 2 minute sessions. I hate it, but I know it does work.

I'll never go there for a salad. I can't walk into the place without getting french fries... so I only go when I have that craving.

There's a great italian place near me that makes the best salads ever, so if I'm feeling lazy, I know where to go.

Since I'm a sub......what about forced weight loss? My Master hasn't really forced me, but I pretend he did, lol. Every time my stomach growls, it sends shivers all the way down, if you know what I mean. It's kind of hard to maintain the mindset, but I've been able to maintain for a couple weeks, now. Just wondered if anyone has tried this or what.....

And, I would like to join when the cycle starts again, unless I can join now. I was going to start eating less and exersizing more on New Years, but then I decided to quit smoking (and succeeded...it's been almost 17 days now). I've lost 8.5 pounds so far just pretending He told me to.

If nothing else, maybe I can be a cheerleader!

Jump on in, Ang. Never too late to start!

While there's nothing wrong with wanting to be healthy for your master, or for yourself for that matter...

I seriously doubt that a caring Dom would want you starving yourself. And if you're giving yourself orders, they are not coming from him. Would your master really appreciate you taking someone's orders as if they are his own? Even if coming from you? Maybe you could just check with him on this one...

My suggestion, though I know the connection between stomach growling and the hormones feels intense sometimes, you need to eat healthy, not starve yourself. A sexy woman is a healthy woman. Not a dead one.

Such a thing does exist, but it's not a "since I'm a sub" type thing. There is a specific type of fetish known as feederism, in which one person (the feedee) gains weight and the other (feeder) encourages them. Often the intent is to make the feedee so fat they become immobile and must be worshipped, but this isn't always the case. Sometimes the feedee goes through weight gain/loss cycles, so that they and their partner can continue to indulge the fetish of feederism without the feedee becoming ever-fatter.

One could argue that this is a type of D/s relationship, although it's often a mutual desire. (If the feedee hasn't consented, then it's considered abuse.) But forced weight loss as part of a standard D/s relationship isn't really part of this fetish, and as Mermaid said it probably isn't wise either.

I did pull this out of Big Big Love, Hanne Blank's book about sex for fat people:
In some lifestyle BDSM relationships, the partners use their roles to help one another achieve goals they both desire, whether the goal is to stop smoking, use money more responsibly, gain or lose weight, or any number of other things.
So yes, weight loss can be part of a BDSM relationship, but it's not because you're a sub. It's something that both partners decide they want, and then they role-play to achieve the goal.

(Incidentally, Hanne is a relative of mine. I did e-mail her to confirm my thoughts before posting this.)

^^^Ok, I guess I didn't explain enough, lol. The excerpt you put here is exactly what I'm talking about, only what you said and what she said probably makes a lot more sense than what I said. I decided I was a sub/slave and I asked my Master to help me by telling me what I could eat or not eat. I'm about 100 pounds overweight and he has diabetes and high blood pressure. I sometimes feel like I lack the willpower to do it on my own and thinking about it this way has helped me find some willpower. Well, since I quit smoking I feel like I'm in a lot more control than ever, but it doesn't hurt to have more motivation, lol. It's not a dangerous thing. It's kind of necessary for us. We just started getting into this lifestyle and it seems to have helped us in so many other aspects of our relationship, I started thinking about weight loss that way. And, btw, Master is a non smoker. He helped me do that, too. We're also saving to move into a larger house and using this relationship aspect to help with the saving as well. Maybe I should get that book!? :) Only thing is, we don't really role play....if that means a specific timeframe that is seperate from a normal life. I've been trying to make my "normal life" one of service to my Master and my family.

Thanks for the feedback everyone....sorry I wasn't very clear, lol. I really do appreciate your help!!

Ah! Okay, that does make more sense. :)
By the way, congratulations to you for quitting smoking! :D

I do recommend Big Big Love. The subtitle is "A Sourcebook on Sex for People of Size - and Those Who Love Them" and it was published in 1999 but it's still available in sex shops (I see it all the time), queer bookstores, and of course on Amazon.com.
