Comments That Make Your Day

Woke up to this one, and all I can offer is a most humble "thank you" to @Devinter for such wonderful praise on my short story Reunion.

This isn't a story. This is something more. This is that subtle feeling which has no name, but that we all know intimately. This is art.

Many of you have also left lovely comments; obviously not going to share them all but wanted to let you all know how appreciative I am.

Not one in particular, but I love that so many authors I respect are commenting on Souls Last Kiss in a positive way; @AchtungNight, @EmilyMiller, @Djmac1031, @SabrinaLangdon...

And to @Djmac1031, "Succubus? Angel? Both? Intriguing end twist."

"This had to be heaven. For all I cared, it could be hell. I just knew the ecstasy I was experiencing at this goddess's whim was worth whatever it cost."

I intentionally left it to you to decide. :)

When I wrote it, I fully expected it to fail. Humor is, after all, subjective, and the idea for the piece was inspired by a silly comment I made in a thread here about a ridiculous story premise.

And yet everyone seems to love Mittens The Voyeur Cat.

So many lovely comments to choose from and again thanks to all, but I'll share this one:

Having just read and commented on how difficult it must be to write a really good 750 word story, I laughed my way all through this one. Five stars and on my favorites list. Bravo! Oh, and while I am most unlikely to find a girlfriend in my future, I sure as hell ain't owning a cat!

Glad to have your respect. You ever want to leave a similarly positive comment on one of my stories, I’d welcome it.

Hopefully your protagonist ends up in Midnight’s Palette or somewhere similar. Look that place up if necessary. ;)

On religion, I think a lot of jerks who emphasize it are into the “I’m better than you” attitude or exploitation and hypocrisy than the charity and forgiveness aspects. And that’s terrible. I was raised Christian conservative, but I call myself a spiritual agnostic because I am appalled by hypocrisy and holier than thou ignorance. I also don’t like going to church and don’t consider lust a sin as long as you approach it with ethics and discipline. I have known plenty of people with libertine sexual habits that are good people regardless. I’m one myself. The positive religious characters I feature in my stories like the Shapiro family, Erika, Seelah & Arue, etc are also like this. It should be obvious the villains are the opposite. They can keep their weaponized morality and high horses. I feel better helping others when I can and enjoying life than I do satisfying anyone else’s miserable bs.

Where do you suggest I start? You have a lot to offer.

As for religion, I have a difficult tie believing that an entity that can create this vast yet delicate universe doesn't have more to worry about than who sticks their dick in me.

Amen to that second paragraph. I’d be glad to help said entity tidy up the universe’s issues too one day- in a Chaotic Good way preferably. Heh.

You can start wherever you like. I don’t know if our kinks are fully compatible- our stories feature lots of different things- but hopefully you’ll enjoy what you read. “Fear, Lust, and Vanity” was my first chronological erotic story. I have used “Inside Out” as a pilot for a series in the past. I also have plenty of short femslash, zipless fuck, or romance stories, one more comes out tomorrow featuring characters based on EmilyMiller’s mystery girls. The X-Men, Pathfinder, or Star Trek stories might be fun if you’re familiar with those popular fandoms. The God of War story is probably the most BDSM I’ll ever do.

OMG. Where did these guys come from - it looks like it could be separate Anons, though one was pissed off enough to hit other chapters of the same series prewarning readers that X was a bastard and Y was a bitch - all 6h ago, and down the story goes below 4.5. Unobomb airstrike!

Yielding to Ophelia - comments

So there are certain things that don't end up in my stories and this is a complaint I get occasionally.

So interesting and excellent writing. Love the location and the family involved. But why on earth with all the sex is there no anal or butt play of any kind, lacking anal is a big mistake for these folks , would have. Even interesting

Got this one today. It's nice when a reader reinforces exactly what you wee trying to do with a story...
And well, the compliments are nice, too.

I usually do not like such short tales, but if Shelby writes it, I will read it. Very clever, working in your happy ending theme. Is the woman good or evil? LOL Well done, so many things left to the imagination. Shelby, you are one of the best writers on this site, top ten easily. Thank you for keeping me entertained.

And then our friend Anonymous shows up: :ROFLMAO:

Like a poem re-written into a bad short story that was done by someone in high school.

I got this one today on The Baddie Neighbor - Ch 02. It has been 6 weeks since the last chapter posted and having someone waiting for the next chapter really makes me feel appreciated.

Can ya'll please post the next chapter! It has been submiited and people are waiting. C'mon literotica give the people what they want.

One for a non-erotic anthology I've recently completed
I really enjoyed it all. I loved the different feel of each story and how they still shared a connection. Like they work so well on their own but together just elevates them.

I'm definitely gonna reread them ❤️
♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

This one is incredible. In All Aboard Andi's Dream Ch. 03 I wrote a sea rescue. A sail boat sank and a yacht responded and arrived before the coast guard could get there. Those poor people. A family of 3 was in the water, the mom was in labor, the young daughter was under a sail and tangled in the rigging, and Dad could barely swim but he was trying to rescue daughter. The folks on the yacht rescued the family and delivered the baby. I got this response from a reader today

10 Big Blazing Stars. Great Writing, You had me helping with the survivors. I was really in the USCG, I was a Coastie, going through a Hurricane at sea, you will never forget the experience. Thanks for the effort. Buster2U

Miller’s Rule is that anyone who cannot come up with a better critique than “written by a high schooler” is not worth any time or effort.

It’s the equivalent of “yo mama fat!”

Emily
Considering how badly the comment was phrased, I doubt anonymous knows much at all about writing at a high school level. 😜

And sometimes Anonymous is a gem:

Damn fine blending of "fairy tale" (yes, I know wood nymphs aren't fairies but the concept is the same) and cold, hard reality (the unending, unstoppable exploitation and destruction of livable habitat for all wild creatures). I began reading with my heart in my throat at the foreknown fate of the nymph, ended it feeling only marginally better in knowing that the nymph's life would not be "totally" without hope re her purpose in living. (That damn Pandora's legacy is all we have left.)

Your writing evokes all the poignant bittersweetness that permeates life; thank you (I guess) for sharing your magic with us (though my heart still aches for Emma even though she's your fictional creation.

Ok, I'll admit it. I'm a sucker for fairies and other such creatures. Wonderful job of writing, and I liked the outcome.

People think the fairies I put in my stories are weird. They've appeared in The Gate series and Enchantress series
In Enchantress I used them as a light source, translators, and comic relief
