Comments That Make Your Day

The best kind of comment is one that lightens your heart and makes you feel good about providing something another person enjoyed, especially about a satirical story and parody of an old Kenny Roger song. This comment below is from my story, On a Train Bound For Nowhere. I reworked the original lyrics to fit the lady's shady character as she regales a fellow traveler in this event. It's short and wry, and as another commenter wrote, "Now I have to get that song out of my head."

"I had a great time reading this and the best laugh I’ve had in a long time. Thanks for taking the time to write this."

A first for me today. A near 500 word critique/comment on my Skyrim story. There were things Anonymous liked and things they didn't, but they were polite and very thorough, and a real fan of the game. I feel kind of honored that they chose to spend that much time and energy on giving me their thoughts. Pretty damn cool. Rather than post the whole thing here, I'll just provide the link if you're interested.

This comment was on Reddit, but it's one of the best comments on any of my writing over the past ~15 years.

While reading this, I could almost feel myself there with you in parking lot. The details and emotion were strong enough to make me feel like I could of came when he did in the story.

The story was up on Reddit early, since it takes a day or two for pending approval here on Lit. But now it's live on here as well.

Always good when a fabulous Litster leaves a comment

Hot hot hot. Very descriptive.
I didn't see the last part coming! Nice twist that made me giggle.

which was on my Blame It On The Tea story.

mush nicer than those Anon ones, which, even when good (i'd say 95% on mine have been) just makes it harder to appreciate who you have reached.

This one surprised me. It's from my Skyrim story, which is a basic 'stranger comes to town' story like a lot of our classic westerns. I'm not sure what 'point' the reader was looking for.

No score
I still can’t figure the point of the story

Sophia d'Abruzzi, is an FMC in a prior story who hit a chord with readers, so I thought I'd give her a turn as the protagonist/narrator in my latest, The Deal Maker.
A fairly new author around these parts had this to say, which made my day:
I liked Sophia in the Artist story. Now, I freaking love her. She’s a star. Please find a way to bring her back.

This just hit on every level. A good story. Great characters. And an enjoyable finish.

Short, but every word was meaningful. There was no fluff.

Did I mention Sophia is an awesome character? Loved this.
I was trying to be fairly tight, telling this story, but at almost 10K words with only one sex scene, I did not expect praise in the form of 'short'. Thanks, @DonOctavio

I absolutely love when someone doesn't read the whole story, then beats up the writer (in this case, me) for what they assume about it. From Zeus and Amphitryon, my Geek Pride story about a classics professor stuck in the middle of a Greek tragedy:

I am not a fan of willing cuckold stories so, as much as I have loved other stories by this writer, I couldn't get past the 2nd page when it became obvious that this was going to be a story of that type. A warning at the beginning of the story that this is a story about a willing cuckold and a man of wealth and power that has no consequences for his actions. Why on earth would anyone find that entertaining. I did skim through and seems like some attempt was made decades later, like that would be justice? Nope. This story is so offensive to my taste, that not only did it get only 1 star, but NoTalent has for the first time lived up to his name, and I am removing him from my list of favorited authors, as plenty of writers can write good fiction where evil is not rewarded.

Spoiler warning: by the middle of page three in a five page story, literally everyone involved has been murdered by the professor who's driven mad by what the man of wealth and power did to him. A decided lack of patience there, I think. Sometimes you just have to laugh.

For something more in line with the intended use of this thread, here's a short and sweet one from The End of Our World:

Fuck... you can write, man!

I didn't join the StillStunned fanclub until "The Countesses of Tannensdal" - I came across it during the competition and it just blew me away. ☺️ Hope you're still really proud of that one. You should be. Fantastic storytelling, incredibly atmospheric. More people ought to read it.
Thanks, this means a lot, coming from an author of your creativity and vivid storytelling skill!

(And I agree: more people ought to read it, but somehow it just doesn't generate much response.)

My latest story titled "Mandy's Sexcapde: (B)Rimming With Love" just posted a few days ago, and I'm proud to say that I've gotten some wonderful feedback. Here's a few:

1. First of all, the story is fabulous, made me drool like a horny schoolboy. You have the best of both worlds, man. It's only natural to want to eat (and ultimately fuck) a hot woman's ass, and for her to allow it and enjoy it is unreal. Just reading how much she got into it could have gotten you 10 stars. Great natural dialogue.

2. I usually don't post comments but that is the best story I've ever read on Literotica. I, too, love to worship, eat, and make love to my girlfriend's ass. Your sensual story was perfect in description and tone. Thanks!

3. Sy, your love for your wife is so apparent! Maybe even more than in your previous stories. It shines through like the sun, so much that I can hear you saying "I love you, Amanda" in every sentence. The humor and love within this tale is wonderful! Also, extra points for the title. I thought that was very clever!

That last comment was especially meaningful to me because the stories that I write about my wife are meant to be like love letters to her.

Plus, as an amateur writer, it just feels great to get positive feedback (sorry, had to toot my own horn a little!).

From Anonymous:
"I’m a 70 year old white conservative Baptist and you made me cry like a baby. Now i am going to have to follow you and read more of your work. Needless to say I loved it divorced twice and still an incurable romantic. Keep touching people with truth and love maybe some day the world will wake up an d be a better place."

Today's literary treasures from the comment files:

The Bet: Ah yes, the duct-taped mummy scene. Inspired genius, I thought. Men didn't like the idea. Surprisingly, a lot of women didn't either.

More than 5 starts if I could.

Not only a compelling narrative journey but top it off with the frosting of the bunny slippers and cherry on top of duct tape "mummy" especially after Steve calling Mallory his mom was awesome and fun.

Irredeemable: Written as a cynical view on Valentines. It didn't go over well with the romancers!

This is short as it is a 750 word project piece but compelling.

Read the it so of this author's pieces and am strict that each has it's own compelling perspective and fun twists and quirks.

5 star plus kudos

I may have to credit zoo if I do a sequel to Bikini Barista Sleepover...

So many questions. Did Jackie find out Tim had been visiting this coffee shop and set this up? Do the girls move in? Do Tim and Jackie open a second location? Do they franchise? Is the coffee any good? Does it really matter? I enjoyed this immensely.
