Comments That Make Your Day

It's always nice when the fans starting read through your other stories:

Buckshot Ranch

Wonderful. I too will be looking at your other stories!

Good story. I liked the supernatural aspect! Could have been much longer, but perhaps you do have plans for a follow-on, delving in the Others, maybe an attempted revenge plot from Darren, etc.
The ending felt a little rushed, and several characters popping up at the last minute, like Julie’s mom and Charlie’s sister.

Hey Gordo!
It's been a while.
Really loved this one. 5 Stars.

One Night In Dodge City

The Gun Fighter

GREAT STORY!

Very very funny

Another nice comment received by email:

Buckshot Ranch:

Excellent read

Comments:

Well done, I don't usually comment but had to let you know I thought you did a really good job of setting up the heart and ending of the story. Buckshot Ranch is an excellent read and they (an excellent and quality read) are becoming harder to find. Thank you for sharing your amazing endeavors.
Cheers Dave Barreau

1 star - just another cuck/slut crap story.
It gets a well deserved one-star rating.
I think you would get a better response if you put this in the bdsm or fetish categories.

Received on Reddit, in response to a comment I made describing an orgasm I'd had. Top-tier compliment, that.
Reminds me of this comment, on one of mine:
Poetry
Sublime writing, scarcely matched in this venue. This is a fantasy that many of us have had, meeting someone and coming together in a magical way, with no friction or hitches in the flow.

This could be in a magazine, it's that good. Do you write professionally? If not, maybe you should try. If you do, thanks for this gift!

I'm glad I put a smile on someone's face:

Well done! Great mix of sex and love. Whenever I picture myself as the woman while reading the story, I know it's great.

I got the most confusing email:
Title: incomplete feedback

Comments:
Sorry, I was unable to get past halfway down p.2, but thought I'd send you what constructive criticism I already had, just in case you wished to enact on any observations made up to that point. I wish you good luck in your efforts,
Kind regards,

It's a bit like the Blackadder episode when he goes on a long sea voyage.
Melchett: "The finest cartographers in the land have prepared this map of the area you will be traversing."
Blackadder, examining the empty piece of parchment: "There's nothing on it!"
Melchett: "Yes, they'd be most grateful if you could fill it in as you go along."

Seems pretty clear to me. This reader simply didn’t have constructive criticism, so he didn’t include any. I’d say it’s very considerate of him, to save you the time you’d spend reading it.

I had some rather fun comments for my story. Mummer's Day when Alice McGee wrote "I absolutely loved this. The chorus lines were wonderful and showed so much originality on your part. How long it took to realize the tale I have no idea but the end result is superb. I can only hope that when it comes time for me to shuffle off this mortal coil that someone will do something equally loving and caring for me. Five stars seems somehow inadequate but I give them willingly."

And some other people also said nice things about the same story. Today I had one woman send me feedback and told me my stories inspired her, and that really made my day.

This is from my Sci-fi story - Boldly Cumming which is about an eighth colonist joining the original seven on a distant planet. Just for fun, I used a modified version of the cast of Gilligan's Island. Not sure why, I just came up with the idea and ran with it. It was a lot of fun to write. It's gotten a lot of good responses but today I got my favorite comment.

Well, at least they got off the island.

The intro to some thoughtful feedback that just dropped into my inbox:

"I want to express my appreciation for your writing. Not just an appreciation of the very high quality, but also at how cleverly you have crafted the characters and their lives. I didn't even sense that I was reading because I found it so effortless to visualise what was happening, to the point where I could have been watching a movie."

Wow! Way to make me feel validated!

Yeah, that's a hell of a compliment. Congrats.

@Djmac1031 left this comment on Not A Soul:
Gonna go out on a limb and say this was at least partially inspired by Alien?
Kept expecting Jen to call out "Get away from her, you BITCH!" 😆
Interesting premise and certainly a dark open ending that leaves us with many questions.
But that's okay. Some stories don't need to answer EVERYTHING.
Great job.
Thanks! Yes, Alien was the basic premise, although I have to admit I've never actually seen the movie in its entirety. But I've seen enough movies that it "inspired" to get the gist.

About the ending... I think most of us would probably want to do the right thing, but when push comes to shove? I suspect plenty of people will take the easy way out. But it's a demon story, so I thought a dark ending was appropriate.

in case my original comment wasn't clear, so did I. Many of the best horror stories have ambiguous endings. Think John Carpenter's "The Thing."

Which, along with Alien & Aliens, you definitely should watch if you haven't 😉.

A week has passed, and not a single new comment appeared. You must be right: that was all the constructive criticism user was able to give on my story.
