I've seen it work both ways... but reality has this nasty little habit of sneaking in... when you are dealing with the reality it is scary.. but then so was crossing the street once... so pray for me.. i'm seeing what will come of it myself.

It wasnt till Marty got home and looked at his digital camera that he realized he never took any. We only got 2 on one of my cameras at a light house. We will have to wait for next time. Somehow we got tied up

After 8 days together, we didn't take any pictures either! Only a few on the web cam, but they are not good/clear enough to really show around!

Well, I've been in two relationships that were distance based. The first one I ended up engaged to for four years, and she even moved to CA and lived with me for like 3 years before deciding she didn't love me and would like to cheat on me with her ex. She was a little messed up in the head, so you can't really count that one. But the most recent one, we both decided it would be best to remain friends, than let distance, and a potential Mr./Ms. Right pass us by while pining for someone 3k miles away. I would say, do it, but only if you truly wish the hard road. It's not easy, and could cost your friendship at the very least.

Well i have not been in here befor hope i don't get throwed out i will be good.
Longdistance relationsips. now that's a mouth full , they can be real hard well i should say they are hard, but they are worth it .
Why because get to know the person first before anything else,you get close to them through talking, you are friends first.
Ihave wasted my life looking for someone that would make me happy , found one but after 2 years she didn't want me she wanted everybody so i had to let her go .
But you know if i would have something like lit i would not went through all that.
Ihave not been here all that long but let me tell you i have meet some super people .
when i came in i was so low i could set on a cigarette paper and swing my leggs.
So long story short ,relationships where its long or short distance go for it flat out , don't wake up some morring and say damn i'm 50 years old and i don't have anymore than when i started, take it from a fool it happends.
i have a saying i'm not here for a long time but for a good time thank you for letting me vent.

As you can see, this thread has been going on for a while (I actually began it right after I realized I had fallen in love, sight unseen, with my online lover).
You're certainly right, Kewltoy. LDRs are NOT an easy road to take! So far for me it's been worth every tear and lonely hour, but I find that it's better to stay "in the moment" so you can enjoy those moments instead of worrying about when you'll be apart again.
It's already been said here that online communication can be more direct and hard-hitting than face-to-face meetings. By the time Oman and I actually met each other, I already knew more about him (and visa versa) than I have anyone else in this lifetime.
Hard part right now is facing the future. We know we want to be together, but it's the "wheres" and "whens" that have no answer right now.
Glad you found LIT, Twodogs. There are still "problems" lurking around chat and threads, but basically this place has produced a lot of support and encouragement for many of us. An LDR is not something one should purposely seek out, but if it does happen, communication and honesty go a long, long way in keeping things going.
