LOL I may not have kids but I can relate. I babysat this weekend and gf is a free spirit while ex-husband is definately all for rules and things. I'm fixing mom's computer and walk in to find out that son has just chopped the sleeves off of one of his shirts!!

At my gasp he looks at me innocently and says "well mom cut the sleeves off of this one". Since it was black with some kind of logo I could see that. Too bad one he cut up wasn't a t-shirt!!! LOL

Once I got out of him that no he didn't cut up his school uniform needless to say got this reaction from parents. Dad, you never do that without asking an adult first. (Let him off since kid argued he had never been told specifically not to cut up his clothing and Dad had to admit he was right.) Mom, ah so what he wanted it that way and wants to wear it that way no big deal. LOL

Next time I babysit maybe I should teach him when to pull what depending on what parent he's going back to???

Ya think?;)

Ah, Hat! What a story!! Kids are amazing though, and I think they learn very early on which parent to "play" when they get "inventive" (got to give the kid credit for ingenuity, though!). I'm sure LTR's kids are great and behave well (except for the unpacking "thing"!).

Hang in there gang!!:rose:

twodogs,
I also had a 9 year old. A son. Nine year olds are sometimes afflicted by the disease known as "selective hearing". My brothers two sons had it now mine has it. No one can find a cure.

Kids

you got that right ' he will ask a question you give him the answer and he keeps asking the same question trying to get the answer he wants ggggggggggg.
I'm 53 now if and isay if i make it and still have a sane mind i will be lucky .
Now they say when you are older it's easier bull shit the only reason it easier they can wear you down faster .:( ;)

hi all! considering im the other half of the ldr of the starter of this thread,i tought id share my feelings, too. I never thought Id be involved in a relationship that started on the net, just browsing one day,i stumbled across a chatroom, the one on lit,and thought id try it out for some fun.Fun was all it was until i chated with jenny, something just clicked between us.She is one very special lady.I think LDR can work with alot of work like most of you say and feel this is the same with any type of relationship.you get out of it what you invest in it. LDRs have distance to deal with, other types of relationships have other things to deal with, but if the relationship is worth it you deal with the situatuion and reap the rewards of the relationship.Lucky me has begun to reap the rewards of this relationship. After reading many of your posts ,i began to think you can really tell when a relationship is working, what you once considered working on a relationship, you begin to think of a want, Everyday,i want to share with jennyeven the most trivial of things, every day i want to be totally honest with her, everyday i want to help her with everything.this is one of the rewards, two hearts becoming one.thank to all you well wishers,ii know it will work out for us because we are investing ourselves in the relationship.to all the rest of you involved with LDRs ,goodluck to you and your loved one, like any other relationship, its worth the effort.Gosh,i can tell LDR feelings are real.just checked aol instant messenger and saw my heart sink seeing that she is offline. once again, thanks and good luck to you all and thanks for replying to my ladies posts. Please keep your thoughts coming.

WOW, babe! Talk about first posts!!

Hope these feelings last forever.

LDR's are tough but definately worth it. I think the worst part is when you know your love is hurt or sick and can't be there for them no matter how much you want to.

I have had this happen to me on a small scale but a dear friend I talk to on MSN had to deal with it with something real and frightening. When he can't reach her he pours his heart out to me and we talk about them and his lady.

If you ever can't reach the one you love and need to talk reach out to your friends. They will listen and do care.

Just a thought.

May I say wild new avatar babe!!;)

Not really "me", but the similarities are enough for Oman to be satisfied! (Of course, that mean's I'm satisfied too!) ;)

I enjoy changing things; helps to "liven" things up! It will be a sad day for some when I go back to the "fruit"!

I agree with your thoughts about "contact" when things are tough! I know both Oman and I have the support of many here at LIT. It seems so many have gone through so much. We were both reading through this lengthy thread, and so much has changed (yet it also shows some of the advancements and plus stories too)!

Thanks for being part of this, Hat!:rose:

I just wanted to say that I love this thread. I am almost positive my very first post was on here. Reading about everyone's experiences has been a tremendous help for me.
To be able to know that my love and I are not....alone....in our challenges and questions has really helped me to take a step back...and really concentrate on building a meaningful and lasting relationship....even if it did start with the two of us apart.
We shall be celebrating our one-year anniversary (from the day we started talking to each other) very soon...coincidentally...it will be during her first visit to see me here in California. I am very excited. This has been an amazing year...and I am looking forward to what the future will bring.
Again, thank you all so much for your stories and your support.

7 days!! woohoo! 7 days to go!

oh...and Jenny, she will be here for only 5 wonderful days.

Take care all....shall be thinking about you.

Lucky Number 7!!

Thanks for your kind words regarding this thread. It's been amazing leafing through the pages, and it's such great comfort and support when any doubts creep in on those bad days!

Five days are wonderful, Smiley!!

All the best, and know we expect "full reports" after your time together!;)

Happy 1 Year Anniversary too!!:rose:
