I think everyone in LDR's does a lot of dreaming. Dreaming about a time when there will be no significant distance between yourself and your lover. Times when you know you will be able to go home and find them there and fall asleep in their arms.

We work through the reality. Knowing that we each have things to do and commitments where we are that we have to take care of. We spend as much time as we can communicating and sharing. Building the relationships that we have even more. Knowing that the distance or the time it takes to get in the same place finally won't break us down but make us stronger.

That's good advice to people ,but i would add one thing do not jump off in something to fast , you might be worse off than when you started.
Go at it slow and easy like the cold , and see if you are ready to take on a person that might have to much hurt and just want to be left alone and live in there other world .

Stopping in to say hello. I see some new faces to the thread...so here is a big LDR welcome to Daeth and Lady Sam...nice to hear another couple's story as they work through the challenges of trying to be together.

My significant other (that sounds really dumb....she is the love of my life...my center...the core of my being....the woman I have been searching for!) Anyways...she is flying to see me and will be here on Wednesday......I have about 4 days left! This will be our second time together...the first was this part december when I flew out to see her. I really can't wait...the suspense is killing me. Though, we have had some really wonderful conversations these past few weeks....it has been an amazing time for us.

Anywho....hello to everyone. I hope you are all doing very well. Jenny and Oman, you keep me smiling every time I read your posts. Hatara...I hope you are doing very well...and thanks again for the phone card help (I know, I keep saying it...but she was very cool!) And to everyone else, I hope your night is filled with wonderful conversation and deep love.....not to mention some very steamy scenarios. Take care all...will be in touch.

twodogs you do have a very good point. For months Classy_Lover and I were just friends and that was all. We talked about everything what we were doing in our lives and how things were going. I think starting out as firends has helped us a lot. Nothing is going to happen fast. With an LDR you have to be prepared for things to take a while.

I would never tell anyone to meet then move. In reality that rarely works out. But if you can make it through until it's the right time for the two of you to live in the same place and take care of everything you have to that's the key.

Hello, indeed, Miss Taken! LDRs are not always successful (a lot of who originally posted here are no longer "coupled"), but then there are the success stories! Like LTR and her Tiger, Oman and I have changed our lives because of meeting and falling in love. Hopefully one day one of us will be driving/flying the miles to join the other!

*wanders in still half asleep* Only got to say a quick hi and bye to Daeth this morning . I really think that our being friends first has allowed us to get to know each other. I mean we've known each other almost 4 years now. Daeth is one of the kindest and most sensitive men I know. He seems to know when something is bothering me without me having to say something. And he always has wonderful advise for me on raising my son.

Until recently, our voice chats were few and far between, calling to or from Canada isn't cheap. But then I finally remembered to get a Mic Best $12.00 I've spent. Between hearing his voice and the times we're actually able to get his web cam to not crash when talking (believe it or not, it's mostly on just to get a feel for each other), I think we've found a good way to work our way towards our goal of first meeting and then...see what happens.

Anyway, I'll stop rambling and go back to missing my love.
