Unfortunately it doesn't always work out for everyone, Twodogs. Sorry to hear you're suffering right now.:rose:

God bless the mikes!! Even though we occasionally get "thrown off", it's a much more affordable way to hear each other's voices, and to spend time with each other.:)

Gah Jenny, you posted the one I have to wear at work *twitch*

So sorry to remind you of "work"!! This one looks similar to the one I use with Oman. The top of your head must be sore (mine is almost every morning from the dang thing)!

I get the permanent indentation in my hair from it. Plus I tend to wear it loose so that it doesn't bother me

Out of the Frying Pan ...

Well, I broke up with my LDR of three years, got a room in the Heartbreak Hotel, stayed a few weeks, and was pulled from my room by love again.

Did I learn my lesson? Hell no, I have another Long distance relationship. And since I met him on Literotica, and he reads everything I post, I must say that I am HAPPY!

Also, I have a new appreciation for the Mother Country, <hint, hint>

Ebony <Me thinks I see something blue o'er the horizon>

That is really great, Ebony.

Best wishes...I can feel your smile through the pc screen! :)

In terms of relationships, especially LDRs, I am called a "real gloom and doomer", the "eternal pessimist", but am trying to open myself to new possibilities.

Hmmm it ain't easy....

So I thought I would start lurking on this thread for some pointers, inspiration or a few chuckles along the way!

Doesn't it sometimes feel like you're walking around, caught in a revolving door? Just an illusion, but the trick is to know where to get off (and not necessary to get back INTO the store!).

All the best, Ebony! I know LIT helps me keep more in touch with Oman through the boards, especially when our schedules don't coincide.

Hi again Miss Taken. Hope you gather some info from reading our posts here. I don't expect many of us had set out to find a relationship through LIT or the internet; I know it was quite a surprise to me to find Oman! I mean what's the use of purposely trying to "hook up" with an LDR, when you can possibly meet someone locally?

Girl, you are preaching to the choir, I was ready to be "Ms. Gloom & Doom 2002" for about a year or more.

And a LDR was tha LAST thing I wanted. But as good old Woody Allen has said, "the heart wants what it wants" and that is that.

Don't worry, just keep on keeping on and things will happen.

Ebony

I am all hearts and roses myself at the moment.

Only 6 more days till I am no longer a LDR and I cannot wait.

But I must say that if anyone thinks a regular ldr is hard, its doubly hard for those who walk to a different beat. ;)

I'm still so excited about your situation and you're soon-to-be togetherness! I hope you will still check up on us here in the thread; I'm sure a lot of us can always use encouragement now and then!!

Wishing you and Tiger (and the kiddies too) a safe, comfortable trip and a wonderful new life together!:rose:

Best wishes to you and Tiger, LTR!

There IS light at the end of the tunnel for LDRs!

Helping others is more importain than me right now .
They need to be reasured life will be better and there is gold at the end of the rainbow , love will come agin, and there are people that love you and will help you with anything
Oh boy told me one time when it comes time to get in the water nomatter how many times you put your toe in to check it it will always be cold so just jump in , sometimes we have to do that.
But if you see ice well that's a different story.:rose:

Gloom and doom

It is natural to think that things will turn into gloom and doom since we swell on our problems more than we should. However, one HAS to believe that things can work out and do their best to make things happen. So, how do we do that?? Regular communication, wake up calls in the morning and in general constant reassurance. High maintenance subs or Masters are "normal" people who do worry and sometimes worry excessively, just like the high school girl who wonders if he will ask her out again, or the the college boy who wonders if a certain girl likes him.
Miss T, believe in yourself and in HIM. Let things work themselves out.

Good advice for all of us, Fallon! "Regular communication" being top on my list; well, right next to "honest communication"!:rose:

I don't think anyone plans on having an LDR. I know and Oman as my friend can back me up I always said I would never even be exclusive in chat with anyone. I thought Oman and Jenny were the exceptions to the rule and that there was no way I could make it in one.

Needless to say falling head over heels in love with someone tends to change your opinion a bit. Lately we have had a hard time becuase we have not been in touch as much. But as I told him tonight out of touch does not mean out of mind. I think about him every day several times a day. He is always in my heart. I know why he hasnt been able to get in touch lately and I more than understand. I just think he's working too hard and not taking good enough care of himself. (You'll have this from time to time with the people you love.) Thing will get better and until then there is email and snail mail even:eek: Whatever it takes is what you do.

Psssssssst Jenny hun your not suppose to fall asleep with those headphones on. Incidently I got headphones for my cordless phone. Somehow while I was in bed with it the part that clips on to your clothes (or should if you have any on) got squashed. Wonder how that happened???:D

Now you tell me!!:D

Both Oman and I have almost "mangled" our headsets, and we keep losing those cushiony thingys that cover the mike! Actually talking without these devices was part of the heaven we felt that week we were together!!:rose:

Then there's those wires!!

I must say I agree with this. It seems that Jenny and Oman and LTR and tiger are the exceptions to the rule. I wish I had a magic answer.

Engaging in any relationship at my age poses it's logistical challenges. Most men who are likely to interest me and I, them are likely to have their own lives, homes, jobs, kids etc. Then, throw in the distance issue, and what you have is pretty futile.

I understand what fallon is saying about communication and having faith, but there often concrete reasons to remain a realist aka. pessimist.

And on to the good stuff....what the hell are you doing when you fall asleep with your headphones on and mangling them?

*smirks at Jenny*

age

Now missy dont you start on that age shit you are as old as you feel , and reading you post you are not old.
Old is when you no longer have the desire ,and sweetheart you are a long way from that .
Only us old dogs are to get old.
Yes i can see where ldr are not good but when you got nothing what have you got to lose.
If you get a little kindness or are happy even if it's a short time it's better than sharp stick in the eye.
So what he might be married ,kids or what ever you are speical to him or her or they wouldent be with you .
To start with they would not be here if they were happy would they.?
You can't touch them or hold them but you got more than what ther with has got .
You got how they realy feel the chance to put a smile on there and your face ,so you got the most importain part you got them there heart and love.:rose: :rose:

please dont be mad at me ijust want the best for y'all

Awww twodogs, how could I be angry with you?

I know what you are saying...and thank you for it.

No, it isn't that I am old. I dont' feel old or act old, I really feel like I am 25 again

:)

I hope it goes better the second time around! :D

miss taken

honey it will , there is nobody any lower than me ,i cad set on a sheet of note book paper and swing my legs most of the time.
it get's to you ,you come talk to old two dogs he will try to get that smile back on that pertty face:rose: :rose:

*sighs* One of those days where I simply wish that I was close to Daeth and able to lose myself in him. Stupid c drive crashed. good think I had two hard drives instead of just one.

Now...to plan the care package I'm going to be sending him :D Suggestions anyone?

Hi LadySam! Earlier on in our relationship, Oman and I were "disconnected" for four days because of my PC!! It was devastating!! (We didn't even know our last names at that point, and I worried I would never be in touch with him again!!)

http://www.gregoire-1.myweb.nl/afbeeldingen/Animaties/laptop1arm_disgruntled_md_wht.gif

Then we had weeks when I had a broken keyboard!! It was before we were miked, and I cramped up my fingers by clicking the mouse using an onscreen keyboard! The things we do for love!! :D

That's a great idea packing up "supplies" to send. Pictures, handwritten notes, candy, underwear(?).... things that will help him feel you are close to him, and that you can share online stories about!:rose:

At least you have an excuse Jenny. I for one was definately not sleeping while on the phone in bed!!!:D
