Long Distance Relationships

I miss you most when I'm sad. I miss you when I'm lonely. But most of all, I miss you when I'm happy."

"If the human body can live with food and water, then why does it feel like I can't live without you?"

"True love is not two souls coming together, but one soul finally finding it's other half."

I think that has to be the hardest part of LDR's. I know I feel like a total Heel when I can't Spend time talking with Sam. We live 3 hours apart and she works 9-5s in Pac time and I work Evenings in Eastern Time. So there are days that by the time I get home it's already 10 pm her time and she has to be up at 6-7 her time to get going fer the day We both tend to burn the candle at both ends to get our time together. And then local life infringes on that to boot. And local friends don't really understand the Online friendship thing and think that they need to "Help you get a life" I swear the next person that trys to fix me up will find out what a pair of size thirteen Kodiaks deels like. :D .

But Hang Tough and Pray that you SO accepts your life and crimps on "our time" and and try to remember it when your SO is dragged away from you because of he demands of their Local Life and look forward to the day when getting "Our time" is as simple as popping a movie in the VCR for the kids or taking the phone off the hook.

Well...here it is. My love arrives here at noontime tomorrow. This shall be her first visit to see me...and only our second time being together.

This thread has been a wonderful place to come and rest my wearied head...and be able to see that my love and I are not the only ones facing these problems. Thank you so much for your support and advice.

I am going to apologize now....because I don't think I will be signing on to post during the next week. I hope you all have a wonderful time...Happy Easter....and I will make sure to come back with lots of juicy details.

Please take care all. I know I am probably going to miss LTR and Tigers end of countdown...and I am sorry...I hope everything goes great. I will be thinking of you....all of you.

Hey...you didn't tell me they were trying to hook you up! *grumbles* :(

Working opposite shifts is hard, and I do tend to find myself sleeping too long but I cherish all our time together babe.

*waits for the basket from the eb*

I thought I had babe.... The last attempt was awhile back. Since then I have kept "Busy" so that it doesn't happen again. That and made a few jaded comments where the offender could overhear..... *Grins*

Where You Are

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There are times
I swear I know you're here
I forget about my fears
Feelin you my dear

Watchin over me
My hope sees
What the future will bring
When you wrap your wings

And take me where you are
Where you and I will be together
Once again, we'll be dancin in the moonlight
Just like we used to do
And you'll be smilin back at me
Only then will I be free
When I can be, where you are

And I can see your face
Your kiss I still can taste
Not a memory erased

Oh, how I see your star
Shinin down on me
And I'd do anything
If I could just, be right there where you are

Where you and I will breathe together
Once again we'll be dancin in the moonlight
Just like we used to do
And you'll be smilin back at me (you'll be smilin back at me)

Only then will I be free
Then I will be free, so take me where you are

Now baby there are times when selfishly
I wishin that you were here with me
So I can wipe the tears from your eyes and make you see

That every night when you are dreamin
I'm here to guard you from afar
And anytime I feel in love
I'll close my eyes and dream of where you are

where you are

Where you and I will breathe together
Once again we'll be dancin in the moonlight
Just like we used to do
And you'll be smilin back at me (you'll be smilin back at me)

Only then will I be free
Then I will be free,

Baby I still believe
Oh I gotta believe
I still believe
I will touch you that sweet day

That you take me there
Where you are (where you are)
I still believe
Whoooooa, I gotta believe
I still believe
I will touch you that sweet day

That you take me there
Where you are, oh where you are!
I still believe
I gotta believe
I still believe
I'll always be waiting here

That sweet day (that sweet day, yeah!)

I still believe......I still believe....

And a little something for Lady_Sam Mr. D.J.....

I, I was the lonely one
Wondering what went wrong
Why love had gone
And left me lonely

I, I was so confused
Feeling like I'd just been used
Then you came to me
And my loneliness left me

I used to think I was tied to a heartache
That was the heartbreak
But now that I've found you

Even the nights are better
Now that we're here together
Even the nights are better
Since I found you

You, you knew just what to do
'Cause you had been lonely too
And you showed me how
To ease the pain

And you did more
Than mend a broken heart
'Cause now you've made a fire start
And I, I can see that you feel
The same way

I never thought there'd be someone to hold me
But then you told me
And now that I've found you

Even the nights are better
Now that we're here together
Even the nights are better
Since I found you

Even the days are brighter
When someone you love's beside ya
Even the nights are better
Since I found you

Thank you babe. I love you. And on that note mr DJ...you know I'm up past my bedtime and its going to be hell to get up in 5.5 hours.

Thanks everyone for your beautiful words and thoughts. They help a lot when you can't sleep at night and are thinking of the one you love. So far away but so close in your heart.

Just one of those nights I guess. Couldn't think of what else to do so here I am again.

FOR A CERTAIN YOUNG LADYSong Valentine

If there were no words no way to speak
I would still hear you
If there were no tears no way to feel inside
I'd still feel for you
And even if the sun refused to shine
Even if romance ran out of rhyme
You would still have my heart
Until the end of time
You're all I need, my love,
My valentine

All of my life
I been waiting for all you give to me
You've opened my eyes
And showed me how to love unselfishly

I've dreamed of this a thousand times
Before but in my dreams I could'nt love you more
I will give you my heart until the end of time
You're all I need, my love,
My valentine

And even if the sun refused to shine
Even if romance ran out of rhyme
You would still have my heart
Untill the end of time
Cause all I need is you
My valentine
You're all I need, my love,
My valentine

Pains of long distance

Peeking in to say hi! I'm at the beginning of a long distance friendship (for now) so reading your experiences and insight has helped alot.

I'm not a patient person so this is KILLING me but i am trying hard not to go to fast and ruin something that could be really good. How did you guys know the right speed to develop your relationship? Its hard LD because in some ways you know more about the person and in some ways you know less! Frustration:mad:

Hi Sxychick!:rose:

I agree with Twodogs with the suggestion that a LOT of communication is important. Decide what both of you want in this relationship. Take each day one at a time (I"m still working on this one!).

I don't think there's any "set" formula. Follow your heart, but keep yourself as grounded as possible in your daily routines and relations.

Best of luck!:rose:

sxychick21 I was just friends with my LDR for literally months before we ever became anything else. In that time I got to talk to a good friend. Tell him everything that was going on in my life and heard about all of the things in his. We talked about everything! I got to know the sweet, gentle, caring man that he is and I think that's why I fell for him to begin with.

Take the opporunity to be friends and make the most of it. Talk about everything including how hard it is for you and your feelings. Take this time to talk about it all. But above all enjoy the friendship you now have.

Thank you all for your help! I really think thats the best way to go and so i will just vent my frustration elsewhere...lol...expect to see me lots :)

It is so amazing and exciting to click with someone online but so hard to transition!

Hatara have you met your man yet?
