Thank you Jenny, and since I already told Daeth, I can tell the rest of you. I got a promotion at work which will allow me to save money and that I could eventually transfer to another site if we decided to go that route.

What wonderful news, Lady Sam!! Congrats and best wishes with your promotion!

Part of our difficulties is that I've been unemployed for a long time, and both Oman and I are in debt enough as it is!! It's been very frustrating, but I do believe things happen for a reason, and hope that things will look brighter for us soon! (Especially if one of us gets enough money to visit the other!!)

*sighs* Sometimes the time difference is the worst. He gets home and has to go to bed so much earlier than I do simply so he can be alert. But it was so nice to be able to share the news with him.

Believe me, Jenny, I've done the moved with no job thing before.

3200 miles

I'll be travelling 3200 miles to meet someone that I met in the chat room. I can't believe I'm doing it, but I am. I leave in 35 days and will finally get to see him in person in 36 days. I get butterflies just thinking about it

We've been chatting since last August, making good use of both the phone and the voice chat feature on MSN messenger. Have sent small packages to one another, but god, I can't wait to actually see how we fit together when we hug, or what he smells like...*sigh*

Glad you'll be finally meeting! It's an amazing experience, and my first meeting left me with so many sensations and memories (and we "fit" together even better than I expected!!).

And yeah Sam's right, The time zone thing bites Could be worse but at present time our work hours overlap by about 4 hours so thats about 14 hours of the Day gone plus sleep time. (Which my sleep overlaps her work time most days so that ain't so bad) And then there is all the daily junk on top of it all. Like last night. I think we go 45 min of chat time in total. But for all the frustration and such I have to happily admit that I'd still here giving it just as much energy and thought that I would if Sam was in the same city.


And thats the part that counts.

Time Zones

Funny thing about time zones! (Well, not THAT funny!)

Oman and I have an hour time difference between us. Quite frankly, it's the BIGGEST hour I have ever seen!! I've been unemployed, yet I still cannot seem to coordinate my time, especially in the evening, with his. It's not at all drastic (I could NEVER imagine one of us living in Australia!!), yet annoying enough to know that when he says "omg, it's already 11pm"... it's already midnight in NYC! Or when he leaves for work at 9am in Missouri, it's already 10am in NYC and takes me that much longer to get going!

It's so hard to say what would have happened if Oman and I met offline first. I know I would have been attracted to him (I feel so strongly that we were meant to find each other), but I think I might have taken some things for granted, and I feel that LDRs need to put in extra effort and time to make their relationships work.

LDR's do take more work. But I think that's why so many of us are so close to the ones we love. If we weren't willing to put the effort in I don't think we would have made it past the first week!

The time differences and work schedules and school and everything makes it so much harder. But you cared about the person so much to begin with that you knew anything you did was worth it because they are worth it!

Welp. Here's the next kick. Just got my next two weeks schedule and it blows..... Mainly 7pm to 3 am's Which is 4pm to midnight Lady Sam's time, She works Day time hours. So fer at least 2 weeks we're looking at having here and E-Mail to get by. Ahhh well. We;ve survived worse and will make it through this as well. And it may just kick me back into writing mode and I'll be able to hammer off some short stories to post here.

Sorry for the scheduling, Daeth! Yes... I find using these boards a great way to keep in touch; we can read each other's messages when we're not "on" at the same time.

Writing is good therapy too! My time away from him, and the feelings I share for Oman, allowed me the outlet to jot down my poems and short story!
