Might get banned for this....

I read somewhere in the forums that Lit was hacked somehow, and that usernames (abandoned?) with early “join dates” were hijacked by some troll(s).

I am super suspicious of any poster who has a 2002 join date with only 200 posts…

Just sayin’…

(And then there are those trolls who have a spreadsheet to keep track of their alts…)

😑
So, in your supposition that anyone who has been on Literotica since 2022 with only 200 posts is a troll, right? Well, whatever helps you sleep well at night.

I see a bunch of old low post count ID's crop up. See them often in the looking for a story forum or when they used to do nominations for the annual awards.

Not everyone comes here to live on the forums....like many of us do.

Uh oh! Low post count alert! Warning! Warning! Danger Will Robinson!

This was ridiculous in the 90s. It's become absurd to the point of parody at this point.

No, sorry facts aren't hard to come by. Sometimes they are hard to recognize when you do. A fact is a thing that has been proven by numerous people numerous times to be true and when tested always comes out true. I can't see or hear or hold in my hand the fact our little dirt ball orbits a huge star but I know it does because others have proven it over and over and over again. Facts aren't opinions. Facts are real and provable. Opinions on the other hand are like smoke, made from ethereal substances and like smoke just as likely to vanish in the slightest breeze of scrutiny. Everyone should be wary when someone quotes a "fact". No one should take such things at face value. Anyone who does is asking to be flim-flammed. I fact-check everything presented as a fact.

And you can find a graph of chart to prove any point you want. The key, is it fantasy or real? Too many accept the first thing that agrees with what they want rather than checking to see if it meets the rigorous requirement of having been dissected so many times it has to be what it presents itself to be.

Yes there are real, verifiable facts. Some are not going to agree with what we want them to be. Some will be as elusive as a diamond in a pig pen. But they will always, always be worth the time and effort to seek them out and verify they are what they profess to be.

Comshaw
Yep. An opinion would be, the Mustang is better than the Camaro. A fact is the Mustang has been in production longer and more consistant, than the Camaro.

I’ve seen many crop up that are clearly trolling…

This was my primary posting ID for most of my early years on Lit, and my first pen name. I use different browsers to log in with each of my pen names. I hate switching accounts on one browser. The browser RR is logged into became my preferred daily ride, so RR took over as the representative of the Triad.

Still only about 13k posts combined in 20 years. :: suspicious :: :cautious:

I don't really understand how people so confidently identify alts. But I do like the idea of a klaxon sounding through the forum when someone runs afoul of whatever the indicators are. Maybe sending out those little FOREIGN CONTAMINANT bots from WALL-E.

I have seen at least on ID inactive since like the 2010s that was obviously hijacked by a spammer. Perfectly normal posts up until then, drops off the face of the planet, then returns out of nowhere like a week ago to post pure spam all over the forum. So it's not out of the question. Still, it was painfully obvious once you looked at it.

Both actually, not counting $$$ value. What would you rather own. A first year (64) mustang or a first year (66) camaro? Both would have all whistles and bells
Production wise, the Mustang has been in consistant production from 1964½ until now. The Camaro had been in production from 1966 until 2002, then reentered production in 2005, and went out of production in 2025.

As far as which is better goes back to opinion. Both first gens are over rated to me, you can go to just about any car show, throw a rock and hit either. I like more Mustangs than Camaros. I would own a third gen of both(79-93 Mustang & 82-92 Camaro).

Seeing we're talking alts and how does one know?

I began here on the General Board back when it was toxic and like today's Politics board probably only had a fraction of the actual members it appeared to have because they all had a ton of alts. Because of that alt hunting and alt outing was the game and a skill of its own. It drove them crazy that they couldn't find one of mine which was simply because I never had one, but they couldn't believe that.

Let me give you some of my best hits.

First, separate pen names like Reject Reality is goofing with here aren't what I consider a true alt because it's for writing and he's made it known they're his names. To me, an alt is a sketchy game run by sneaks to stir up shit here and fluff their stories.

KC Cummings, an infamous troll who was a woman...but in very little time I posted anyone who thought that was a woman was a fool. Took a beating for it then a year later, guess what? In what is to date one of the nastiest dramas here it was proven they were a man and then it was "Oh, um, we knew" Yeah...sure.

An author came here once and said they'd been here before but would never divulge their original name and no one would figure it out. Until I saw they referenced a story concept they'd once wrote that pinged my memory. I searched the story idea forum found that topic saw someone saying they liked it then a week later "I just wrote this" game over. I PM'd them the name and just said "Gotcha, but no worries I'm not saying anything just wanted to prove a point to not give people a reason."

KeithD was originally SRplt71 for many years. When he switched over to writing and posting as KeithD. I saw the KD account was from 2012 and wondered why he would have created it back then. A half hour later I found Pilot stories where Keithd had not only commented but gushed over how amazing this author was, fluffing himself. That one I shared with a couple of others here and we all exposed it at some point because he was such a dink to everyone.

There was a nasty piece of work here whose name I don't even want to mention, claimed to be 'true master of women" and was obsessed with talking about rape and underage (pre mod here) one day his 'sub" starts posting here and fawning all over him. I kept sniffing around all the threads they posted in and happened to catch a slip up where they meant to reply as her, but used his ID. I took a screen shot then blindsided them in a BDSM forum thread and then took it to the General board along with shots of all his discussions of rape and underaged sex. Basically threw him to the trolls. Bye bye.

What I'm getting at is when I say there are alts here, I shouldn't be easily dismissed because I don't say it just to say it.

As to how? This is worth a conversation because we're writers and as writers we portray characters and also I feel we tend to be more detail oriented than a lot of people, we pay attention to things like "voice" yet there are-and always have been-alts here who not only sound exactly like their real id but have the same style, always support the same people and attack the ones the original account does. One old trick is to create a new name and PM someone they don't like and fish, "so writing blah blah, um what do you think of so and so?" Some of these are so obvious its mind-blowing people don't see it.

That's here.

A trip to story side and some work will lead you to seeing the same names commenting on their stories and when you follow that account, hmm, they only fav that person's stories and their only comments are on their stories. Back in 2022 I found one of those because they were instigating on the forums, mentioned it to someone in passing who chased this shit down a lot harder than I'd care to and came back to me a week later with an entire folder of screenshots of that person's legion of story fluffing alts. I think they confronted the person with the information and lo and behold all those accounts were deleted.

Hell, someone outed themselves to me just by their choice of AV once.

It's easy if you pay attention and if someone gets cute and gives people reason to look because the only time I go on the prowl is when someone thinks they're funny. We have a couple of comedians here. Ducks in a barrel.
