Movie role Dom types.

You know, I hate to say so, becuase I really loved the movie, but I have to agree with you about the guy who played the phantom. Not as much of an impact as I would've liked. He wasn't famous, I don't see why they couldn't have gotten someone better.

The actress they casted for Christine was exceptional however. Absolutely gorgeous, amazing voice and absolutely oozing old world subbie charm.

I wasn't aware they changed the score, but I'm not terribly surprised.

Her voice was good....but it was classical, not opera, so that miffed me a bit haha, I'm pretty sure that didn't matter to most people, I'm just picky about all things musical. And I think they might have picked her due to her underagedness, and because she was very talented...but I think the being 16 played a part in that too.

Actually, she has an extensive opera background if I'm not mistaken. I'm no expert of course, I only go on what I read.

Of course, she could've sung her way into my bed three days into a seven day cold.

She might have a background in opera, but she wasn't singing opera in the movie. The only real opera was from Minnie Driver's character... and that wasn't actually her haha

Yeah, but Minnie's part was the only Opera song in the movie, wasn't it? Other than that it was just a musical.

Clark Gable as Rhett Butler in, Gone With the Wind. Always my idea of the perfect man that wouldn't put up with any of my brattiness. :cathappy:

Nope, when Christine performed it was also supposed to be opera...and wasn't.

The only thing I didn't like about Rhett was the massive amounts of shit he (and every other man in that movie) put up with from Scarlett. If there was ever a woman deeply in need of a spanking it was her!

Another vote for Robert Mitchum in Cape Fear, didn't like the remake nearly as much. Frank Langella as Dracula, a fairly obscure Dracula movie but hell he played it well. The original, well written, BAD Spike, before he became a pussy. James Spader in anything he does, particularly Sex Lies & Videotape, The Practice and Boston Legal. I can't help thinking that James plays these parts because they are fairly close to his own personality and kinks and so appeal to him as roles.

I'm sorry, but you are mistaken.

This conversation is over.

If it's open season to name Dommes, then, I vote for Ms. Parker from The Pretender.

Oooh! I loved that show and her!

Wasn't a big fan of that show, but I loved her. She's on Almost Perfect now, and if only Andy Dick would get run over by a gasoline truck on the way to the studio some day, I might be able to watch that to see her...

Was there ever anyone with a more apt name than Andy Dick?

Oooooooooo good vote! Just thinking about her give me the shivers and I don't usually go for woman but there was something about her.

Good show too. I loved the way Jarrod was always screwing with the Center.

He, (Jarrod,) was a hottie!

Yul Bryner in The Journey, an old black and white movie with Debra Kerr! Is my pick for Dom in a movie.

My daughter and I laughed throughout The Phantom of the Opera but I very much saw the D/s tone between the Phantom and the lovely girl Christine.

Oh, the series Angel, had a VERY D/s thing going on between his sire, Darla and
Angel, she usually took the upper hand with him but sometimes he turned the tables, it was delicious to watch. I didn't like him with Buffy cause he wussed out on her in favor of saving the world. Bla...bla...I'm more romantic and selfish than that! LOL! Also as much as I LOVE sex I don't see it as creating "perfect" moments that would turn one evil again. Blech! Stupid curse!

And my all time favorite F/m couple in a sitcom?

Laura Prepon and Topher Grace in That 70s Show. Could it be any more obvious? How many shows did they do that were basically about T&D? (Answer: Lots!)

Edit: Tried to put in a link, but it didn't work. :(

lol...I agree about the sex thing but I gotta say other than the whole psychopathic killer thing Angel in Angelus mode was just freaking yummy!

Darla in and of herself was rather interesting as well, she seemed to take the upper hand with everyone not just Angel and she was interesting because you could rarely guess what she was going to decide to do next or why.

I liked Gunn to. He decorated a room just walking into it.

God am I glad I no longer have a tv!

They change the music in The Phantom of the Opera? Never mind, I'm not gonna watch it. *pouts* Why can't they leave things alone?

John Malchovich in Dangerous Liasons.

Cary Grant, no specific movie, just the general persona.

Ok, here's why The Phantom brings to mind a dom, and Christine a sub. (for those of you who've never seen the movie or play)

Christine and the Phantom sing this together: Pink is Christine, blue is the Phantom, and purple is both

In sleep he sang to me,
In dreams he came...
that voice which calls to me
and speaks my name...

And do I dream again?
For now I find
the Phantom of the Opera
is there- inside my mind...

Sing once again with me
our strange duet...
My power over you
grows stronger yet...

And though you turn from me,
to glance behind,
the Phantom of the Opera
is there- inside your mind...

Those who have seen your face
draw back in fear...
I am the mask you wear...

It's me they hear...

Your/my spirit
and your/my voice
in one combined:
the Phantom of the Opera
is there- inside your/my mind...

(Off stage) He's there,
the Phantom on the Opera...
Beware the Phantom of the Opera...

In all your fantasies,
you always knew
that man and mystery...

...were both in you...

And in this labyrinth
where night is blind,
the Phantom of the Opera
is there/here
inside your/my mind...

Sing,my Angel of Music!

He's there
the Phantom of the Opera

Show was canceled anyway viva la DVD!

Strangely my Irish/German Paternal Grandfather looked like Cary Grant.

He was good!

Saw him on off Broadway in the Village and that was great! Live is nearly always better! Boy did I ever want to grab that man!

Mel Gibson - Mad Max. I'd add Lethal Weapon, but I think he was just psycho in that. ;)

Harrison Ford - Mosquito Coast, any man that can get his family to move to the rainforest to make Ice has to be a Dom.
