Sorry no updates this past weekend a friend of the family passed on and all spare time was taken up quickly. The end of the week looks clear so then I can finally get back to our lovely story.........

The Return

The gates of Valde Glorria were shoved open wide to allow entry to this lone traveler, not that any would have dared bar his way in any case. Several had tried before and all were laid low in turn. He silently stood and reviewed his surroundings, taking in the familiar surroundings he himself had crafted with his own sweat, blood and sheer determination. Nodding once with satisfaction that all was as it should be, waiting for him.

He removed a somewhat battered flat brimmed, desert cap from his head and handed it aside almost absently. A matching desert overshirt was similarly peeled away and passed over to a waiting stewart. In their place, other stewarts strapped steel meshed armor over his broad torso and covered it with a sterling silver breast plate. Atop his head a brimmed and likewise sterling helm was set with it's blood-red, horse hair plume stood up and fell back like an 80's mohawk. A dark colored M-16 assault rifle was revrently handed off and in it's place a thick bladed Gladius was offered, newly sharpened and ready for use. Finally, a red cape was attacked to the haliards at his shoulders and the stewarts backed away respectfully.

The man once again walked forward with his cape flowing out behind him as he assended the stairway to the open dias before the great temple of Mars. Once there, a one armed man nodded solemly and handed his one greatest charge, the sacred Aquilla, over to the newcommer. He took it and turned back to face the city before him and forcefully drove the spiked tip down, chipping the marble floor with a loud 'clang'.

"Brothers, " he called out. "From one war to another, I return. Let the restoration of Rome continue!"

Down below him, thousands of armored Legionares rose to their feet and drew their own heavy Gladius swords, holding them up to the man on the dias. With one voice that all called out; 'Hail Arilias Tyrus! Hail the Consul of Rome!'

One hundred brass warhorns sounded among the roars and cheers erupting all across the Palantine Isles.

The Romans had returned to the game.

Look for the latest chapter in your Saga of a new Rome it is up.....had it done 80% this weekend but wanted to refine things.

Sorry I haven't been around to post anything lately. My work schedule has taken a turn and I am finding myself doing many more hours and have been unable to do almost anything else. I am going to attempt to sit down and write something this weekend hopefully.

This has been fun and it continues to be for me.....we are doing a thread like no other on Lit. I am proud of that fact.

Please Jagged don't see me as ill tempered but do you know when you may have my post updated. I just want an idea so I don't have to check the post everyday.

Does Any One Know What They Changed In The Shorter More Fast Pace Version Of Alexander? I Almost Rented That And Augustus. Does Any One Know If Augustus Was Any Good. But Since My Lady Was Going To Watch We Settled On I Robot And The Machinest, Which I Have To Say Was Slow But Great.

G'day all!
Just a short note to let you know I'm not dead and since I am changing my jobs at the moment I am hoping to get back to writing pretty soon. I love these jobs with more pay for less hours!
Tonofnoise, I'll have to say that I haven't seen Alexander and from what I have heard, I'm not missing much either. I am going to get to see A Midsummer Night's Dream in a few weeks tho, the play and not the movie, and it's an outdoor production too, so should be good!

That is good to hear......I am glad the work situation is improving. Less work more pay is something I always work for myself. Look forward to seeing your Vikings setting sail again. So we are at another impass.......everyone is updated and replied. Three are out of the action for right now though I hope all rejoin as soon as they are able.....but I more then understand that family and work committments come first. Just I hope we can all continue playing together.

The other announcement is that I plan to launch a fantasy strategy/roleplay game. It will have more interaction between the players from the beginning.....things will change. As players will have more input in their starting positions and more things will be handled automatically allowing for more warfare and adventures. Everything from arcade games to short stories....will be open. Random arrivals of gear and shops/resturants that never run out of food......an alien invasion......and a day for heroes. Lead companies of villages armed with pitch forks and bows....and gladiators. Kill werewolves in the woods and vampires in the streets and the only good ork is a dead one. Chose from an arsenal of weapons; everything from a magic staff to a musket to a Dwarven war ax. Interested let me know the OOC thread should be up soon....

Sharpen your sword....load your six shooters and take a place on the line. Your going to save the world........again.

oya oya I seek alls attention

I have been giving the tasking of working on a futuristic/scifi/Early Roman story.
So take Roman before it had reached Britian and the Republic in starwars before
the empire took it all away and thats about my time line. But this is neither here nor there. I wish to know does anyone know of great web sites, not good but great meaning all inclusive web sites on roman buildings, mythology, lives, and politics. I've tried a couple and the information is sparce.

I direct this post mostly to mantra and jagged. But if there are any other roman history guru's please speak up.
