LOOKING FOWARD TO MY FIRST TURN

Welcome to the game and good luck.

So Jagged, where did all the women go?

Not at all my dear.

In fact, you're one of the reasons I joined the thread.

I noticed your post about 30 seconds after I submitted my reply, although I still wonder where the leader of the Celts went too.

LEADER OF THE CELTS

AFTER READING ALL THE LOGS I HAD WONDERED TOO WHAT HAPPENED TO ScarredSoul82. HAS ANY ONE PMed HER??

ScarredSoul82.......wish I knew. I pmed her a dozen times.....her profile doesn't allow emails. I even asked in one of the forums what happen too to her and if anyone knew.....pity she was a great player in all my threads. First to sign up and always raised the bar.

Tonofnoise

pmed an answer to you about that....

LadyRozes

My one wonderful female player. fine work on the last post. Have to give it some thought. YOur Princess does alot in three months time.

Mantra

I always want more players male or female. Long as they write as well as you all...

Are new players still welcome?

Jagged:

This thread was pointed out to me by a mutual friend that currently plays your game. May I join?

I would also like to know, is Javithetatman still playing the Aztecs? I noticed that the list was unpopulated by his name in later postings. If not, they’d be my first choice (assuming, of course, that you would be open to another player).

- E.

Sure......share your ideas with me....I plan to do some work on the thread tomorrow.

Aztecs are open to be played........guy never showed at the start. I am glad someone wants to be a native American tribe.

Welcome aboard Elaseth! :)

As for ScarredSoul82, given her last post was like 6 months ago, she may not be coming around anytime soon. Pity, I rather liked reading her posts.

Hi Jagged,

I've read through both threads and it looks very interesting. If you've got the space left in the game and the culture is still free, I'd love to take up the reins and reign of the Persians.

Thanks, Bri~

Now we're getting somewhere

Welcome aboard Briec and Elaseth. Now we're getting somewhere.

The Aztecs

I've PM'd Jagged with a char idea and am waiting for his info before I post the char. :) Thanks for the welome!

-E.

Glad to see more people. I rather like seeing how other people build empires.

Elaseth,,,,,,,I will give your character a read and let you know shortly.

briec....I was hoping someone would take on the might Persians. Already some powerful Npc ones out there...but your welcome to them and with a 110 islands there is plenty of space. Post your idea.

As to Teoxihuani ......I largely like what I read and you can post your character and history with the following alterations.

You broke off from the main homeland and your character's husband is a leader but not one of such historical note. But by all means keep his name. I like it....

No Spainards came but I am sure some plague brought by rats from a foreign visitor would wipe out the tribe if your so inclined to have that as part of your history.

I have an idea of how gold will fit into your culture but let you know when we begin. Needless to say it will be a resource. As to sacrifice you will need enemy prisoners in a steady supply.

Otherwise unless you want to make changes to the starting package (let me know) post as I have said your history and I will let you know how your first turn begins.

OOC: This was posted in the IC thread but thought it to important to not mention again. As rereading some old posts. Hope it helps.

Gifts of the Gods....
(all tribes)
If you have at least a shiren and a priest you can bless weapons making them stronger and more deadly. If you have a temple you may create holy banners, weapons, shields, and armor that bolsters bravery and will not dull. In battle priests may heal warriors (not bring back from the dead.)

Offerings are required since your priests will not do these actions for free...

Shiren......Good for blessings and healing.

Chapel.....Same as above but on a larger scale (two swords blessed instead of just one at a time for example.)

Temple....Holy banners, armor and weapons blessed in massive numbers. Also natural bonuses for work done on holy ground or by monks and priests.

More worshippers and the more faith the better the results.

(Any questions please ask in OOC or through pm.....Ride on)

Character Info:

Char Name: Teoxihuani (The Source of the Divine)
Social Standing: Noble by marriage to an Eagle Knight, Royal concubine.
Birth rank: Daughter of a Priest of Huitzlipochtli
Occupation: Most favored Mistress of Mocteczuma
Age: 14
Personality: Clever and Ruthless - and knows it.

History:

Teoxihuani, daughter of Smouldering Volcano Thirteen Flower, grew up in a rather sheltered life. Her mother died in childbirth, and her father held fast to her in response to the loss of his beloved woman. Through the doting of her father, she learned a two manly secrets: the secrets of reading and writing, and the shamanistic magic of the Aztec gods.

Her father, a powerful man before his death, arranged her first marriage at the age of nine to the indominable Colored Raven, son of a Weaver and Eagle Knight, an easy enough arrangement despite the rise in social status due to the fierce competition for her hand. It was said then, and often still is, that Teoxihuani is the most beautiful woman in the world.

Beauty, however, does not bring with it wisdom. As with many of his elk, Teoxihuani's husband died in battle against a neighboring villiage. A lucky thing, for he would not have liked to return from the field to find his cherished wife succuring the notoriously slow-witted Revered Speaker, Mocteczuma.

Though only a woman, Teoxihuani has amassed great power in her village through controlling the villiage's leader. The first tendrils of it came when she moved into Mocteczuma's hall, causing a stir at her mere presence. First, she ranked amongst the lowest of nobles, and second, her appearance was shocking.

Only a few months after settling into her place as Mocteczuma's newest aquisition and slowly reeling him into the deeply besotted state that only a fresh young woman of her calibur can attain, envoys from a neighboring island landed on their shores. At first, Mocteczuma sought to welcome them, as there were only a party of twenty to their ship, but Teoxihuani recognized the flare of greed in their eyes when they sighted the worthless yellow, known to outsiders as 'gold'. After carefully searching out the motives of these strange men through a servant listening at appropriate doors, Teoxihuani felt she knew enough: it was obvious the men would return for the worthless yellow - to kill, steal and subjugate.

The day they were to be bid farewell, she had them murdered in their beds.

Her quick action saved many an Aztec life, but it was not soon enough, for the foreign envoys brought with them an illness that soon became a plague. Choking, coughing and the scent of death replaced the content days of Teoxihuani's people. She herself only managed to live through the illness with the application of expensive herbs she had learned to use in her father's tutelage.

A year later, Teoxihuani's power base has strengthened. The men of the village, though few, know who is the power behind the their leader. Her wits have helped Mocteczuma retain his power and increase it despite his tendency to blunder. Though foolish and with a mind unsuited to politics, he recognizes her value now beyond that of mere pleasure toy.

For several months, she has pressed Mocteczuma to put his wife aside for her, and each day his first wife produces no heir, the closer she comes. It helps, of course, that Teoxihuani poisoned the woman's womb during the plague in a guise of easing her illness and saving her life.

--------------------

Notes: You said Mocteczuma couldn't be all that powerful... the title Revered Speaker historically went to someone like Emperor, but does it have to mean the same thing? I kinda of think of it like "Wise Villiage Elder of Noble Birth".

Regarding alterations to the starting package... I would like to customize further if possible, but I'm not sure what would be acceptable. May I have some suggestions in a pm? Thanks :)

Anyway, edit this as you like, Jagged. Thank you!

-E.

Oh!

In regards to the "magic" Teo learned, I wasn't thinking real D&D type magic, but the magic the Aztecs believed to exist. :)

I like what I am reading. Will give some thoughts on it but I think we will have good start soon.

A few words of prayer.....

Lo, there do I see my father
Lo, there do I see my mother and my sisters and my brothers
Lo, there do I see the line of my people back to the beginning
Lo, they do call to me
They bid me take place among them
in the Halls of Valhalla
Where the brave may live forever...
