Prayer Request For Broken Soldier

Hi everyone.

First I wanted to say thank you again....to everyone who has sent genuine positive thoughts and prayers to Broke (and to myself also). I certainly have felt them lift my spirits and I know they have reached Broke as well.

I was able to speak to him briefly today. He is in some pain, very difficult to understand, and still going thru the after affects of the induced coma. But hearing his voice today was so encouraging, so needed, so calming.

I told him about everything going on here at Lit...and he thanks everyone who has sent their good wishes. For the rest...well, - no comment.

Big hugs and kisses....and we are eternally grateful. Please keep it up, I join you in your positivity.

I understand if you were truly genuinely asking out of concern and friendship,
but I felt like when I read these, you guys were being quite disrespectful to Broke and OSW. The sarcasm comes through clearly!

I realize that emotions are running high and that this is a touchy subject for some.

I only please ask that this thread be kept positive...for positive thoughts directed to Broke and for positive prayer for him.

Please let's not argue here.

It really really means a lot that he continue to recieve positivity...he is going thru a really hard time right now.

Spoke with Broke for hours this morning. He is doing so much better. I was also able to get more detail regarding the procedure done to him... and see that my original understanding was different than what was actually done.

As it turns out, what actually happened was that a piece of shrapnel was lodged in Broke's skull when a mortar hit his bunker. Brain surgery was never needed, the danger was in the removal of the shrapnel which was deeply lodged in his skull.....and all of your prayers and positivity....were so helpful in getting Broke thru it.

He continues to go thru various motor skillls testing and such, and is passing them with flying colors.

I thank you all so much...all of you who have been so supportive.

I can't express how grateful we are, or how happy I am to have my Broke back.

OSW, I feel ashamed for not being privy to this and offering words sooner....( result of me only checking my subscribed threads)

I'm not religious in any way, but best wishes I can legitimately offer. I only bumped into Broke a few times when I had the uncomfortable occasion of "waking up" with him and such....but that's no matter. As a countryman, his pain is a tiny bit mine; and I'm thankful for him. I know your pain and anxiety must be tremendous as well, so (((((((((((((((((((OSW))))))))))))))))))))))
