And agree the news doesn't deserve to be read

When all it does is make us scared
Instead of concerned and more aware.

What kind of reporting would be better for us
Than slanted views on celebrity fluff?

Where can we access more serious reporting
Without our brains combusting and aborting?

Perhaps serious logic along our synapses
Would help prevent future intellect lapses.

Well the media is a strange old mule,
That is oft ridden till it's only good for glue,
Which is a shame for the beast of burden,
Of our freedoms public expression,
Should be ruled by simple gossip,
Which has it's place with any topic,
But to rule the roost shows the cant,

That our societies fallen too,
When the news is half untrue,
Or irrelevant scandle, sex and sleaze,
That ne'er brought a dictator to their knees.
I just wish that this once noble beast,
WOuld once again be truly released.
To hunt and snarl and bark and cry,
To set aspirations unto the sky.
But nay while we are ruled by Beckham's
Latest haircut and old pres Clinton's,
Fondness for cigars in unseen places,
I do so hope the human race is
Able to escape this doldrum,

The world is so full of diseases and dread,
Its amazing how we all survive,
Theres the SARS and Nile Virus, The worry of Aids,
Should we really be glad we're alive?

When you measure the worries against all the good,
I think that our chances are fair,
That we'll live to a hundred if thats what we want,
As for me I really dont care,

Cuz the life that I'm livin as I cruise along,
Is a life thats been wacky and fun,
And if I didnt wake from my evening sleep,
I'd be glad that I'd done what I'd Done.

There are choices we make as we tool down the road,
The rights and the wrongs will be there,
but as long as you live your life full to the brim,
When the end comes it really wont care.

The one thing in life that will scare me the most,
Is regret that I held back in life,
So I'll keep movin forward and give it my best,
Then at least I will know that I tried.

This approach to life has definite merits
The fullness of living from horse and carriage

Appeals to those with sturdier hearts
Teflon stomachs and body parts

To live in the moment so totally
Is a gift I can't practice spontaneously

I tend to sit back and worry and wonder
Until fear and tiredness pull me under

To report only things that are a waste of our time

But justfor has a good thought about living
we should swallow life whole and make time for some giving
life is too short and soon we'll be sleeping
so although we should care we should not be steeping
ourselves in the misery that alone we cant alter

Just have to say thank you to AA first
her lighthearted bye quenched a real thirst
for lifting the sombre that was effecting our mood
it was easier to carry on talking of food
but all subjects we choose we will try to address
just hope that I can rhyme them without making a mess
It's getting harder for me to say something of sense
and my poor neck and shoulders are feeling quite tense
