Yup, it is. Do you not enjoy this day? Not a hearts and flowers dude? :D

It's been introduced here by corporate Scandinavia, to sell more flowers and candy.

So far from romance you can possibly get...

 I would never believe such nonsense!

Ok, maybe I would.

I tend to agree, however I believe that Valentine's Day is only limited by the people themselves. If they believe that it means overpriced chocolate, flowers and cards is what it means... then they're missing the point and that's sad. Sure, romance should be alive all year round. But it's a bit too cynical even of me to scorn it to the point where those who DO celebrate it feel like they're doing something wrong/petty/meaningless.

I applaud the people who make their partner feel super-important on this day, even if it's just a simple hand-written note tucked in their partner's pocket or bag to find during the day.

I envy those who are in such a relationship where Valentines is celebrated from the heart - not just following corporate-dipped instructions. But I'll always wish everyone a happy Valentine's because no matter how cynical the world (and I) can get - sometimes we actually DO need a reminder to reflect on how important the people in our lives are (especially those in long, long, long term relationships!).

:)
