I've heard it said Texas men are the luckiest on earth because they spend their days surrounded by so much beauty.
I'm trying to stay warm and positive today. Just got the call from my mom that she had to put her puppy to sleep this morning. She was only 6 years old. It's heartbreaking.

Amen to that and sorry for her friends passing she should get another it helps for the healing process.

That is always such a difficult decision, and so hard to do... Maybe get her a puppy for Christmas? She needs time to grieve, but puppies can heal big wounds...

I'll be heading to San Antonio to spend the day with my brother and his new wife. I have to work tomorrow, though. We'll be having a big get-together on Thursday with her family, and her cousin has INSISTED that none of us bring anything..

Seriously, though, I think when we get there tomorrow, my Sis in law and I will do a quick assessment of what might be needed and make a store run while my brother watches the kids.
I'm looking forward getting to know her and spending time with them.

Didja know that tequila was the result of Spaniards trying to make rhum without sugar cane and only having agave juice as a fermenting base?
Stores are closing fair early & you know there will be a last minute crush. Suggest you call your brother and on the down low, find out if they're missing/needing anything before you hit the road.

Isn't that a mandatory thing with Thanksgiving dinners? Although one should NEVER have only one pie on the menu!
I just got back from the grocery store - got all the stuff together for the dishes I'm responsible for and then some. Relaxing this evening before things kick into high gear tomorrow night.
