Meh for chicken pot pie. It's okay.
But a nice shepherds pie, dark savory meaty sauce with chucks of beef (and or lamb), fluffy whipped potato topping baked so it has a bit of crispy on the very outer layer...

I would scrape the potato topping off of your shepherds pie ... and eat it along side my (homemade, you don't know what you're missing) chicken pot pie. Just sayin'

Well, a homemade anything has far more potential for delish.
Problem is, my exposure to cpp, like most folks, is the crap one finds in the frozen section of the grocery store. Even the few times I've had a cpp at a restaurant, while good, wasn't anything to celebrate.

Exactly what I'm making today! Chicken pot pie, my great-grandmother's recipe. Homemade pie crust and, hands down, the best chicken pot pie on earth! And, my great-grandfather's chocolate pecan pie. With the same crust as the cpp.

Am I supposed to eat all that gluten. What do you think? But it's so completely worth being sick over!
