Lawrence O’Donnell reveals why Bill Barr and Mike Pompeo are hiring ‘criminal defense’ lawyers

Looks like the Trump Chumps are seeing the hole in their boat. Dumpster has not only taken down his administration, but the Rethuglicuts as well!

Two cabinet officials are so deep in President Donald Trump’s abuse of office scandals that they are being forced to hire criminal defense attorneys, MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell explained on Monday.

The host noted that, “The Wall Street Journal broke the news today that Mike Pompeo is now a direct witness to the most important evidence in the impeachment investigation. He listened in on the phone call with [Ukrainian President Volodymyr] Zelensky, a senior State Department official said Monday. NBC News also confirmed Mike Pompeo was listening to that phone call, according to a senior State Department official.”

“So, whistles are being blown everywhere now,” he noted.

“Mike Pompeo was part of what Nancy Pelosi has called the coverup about that phone call. Mike Pompeo didn’t blow the whistle on that phone call after listening to it, but today a senior State Department official blew the whistle on Mike Pompeo,” O’Donnell explained. “The whistles are not going to stop in the Trump Administration.”

“Every Trump enabler should fear the sound of the next whistle. When President Nixon was forced to resign, when a Democratic Congress was still investigating his criminality, president Nixon wasn’t the only one destroyed by that impeachment investigation. President Nixon’s attorney general went to prison. President Nixon’s White House chief of staff went to prison — 48 officials were found guilty of crimes,” he reminded.

“Tonight, Mike Pompeo needs a criminal defense lawyer. The Secretary of State needs his own privately paid for criminal defense attorney to advise him on how to handle his response to the impeachment investigation,” the host noted.

“The same goes for Attorney General William Barr,” he noted. “Like Richard Nixon’s attorney general, William Barr needs to hire his own personal privately paid for criminal defense lawyer because William Barr does not have attorney/client privilege with anyone in the Trump Administration,” he noted. “And now William Barr could be as deeply implicated in what Nancy Pelosi called the Trump coverup as Nixon’s attorney general was in the Nixon coverup.”

“The whistleblowers are everywhere now,” O’Donnell added.

The Dark State whistles in the night, will the Resilience of the Republic show up as resistance?:caning:

Fox & Friends hosts deflated when Andrew Napolitano shoots down their conspiracy theory about Nancy Pelosi

Try as they might, the hosts of Fox News “Fox & Friends” were unable to get legal analyst Andrew Napolitano to say President Donald Trump’s latest problems are the result of a plot by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

In a segment on Tuesday morning, co-host Brian Kilmeade accused Pelosi of malfeasance when it came to the transcript of the president’s phone call with the president of Ukraine based upon an accusation made by Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY).

Nancy was so nasty to convince the Trumpster to publish his own words in the papers!

How dare she!:D

‘They’re all in on this!’ MSNBC’s Morning Joe busts secretary of state’s ‘insulting’ lies about Ukraine call

MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough busted Secretary of State Mike Pompeo’s “insulting” lies after his participation was revealed in President Donald Trump’s phone call to his Ukrainian counterpart.

The “Morning Joe” producers rolled two video clips of Pompeo dismissing the whistleblower’s claims as inaccurate accounts based on second-hand knowledge — but those claims were matched by a call summary released by the White House, and the secretary of state should have known because he listened in on the call.

Donnie, Mike, Billy and Mike P, all in on the extortion! OMG, this is ... Trumpian!

Mitch McConnell might throw Trump under the bus

Ever since Nancy Pelosi first announced the launching of an impeachment inquiry, many of us jumped forward in time to the Senate trial that would follow an impeachment vote in the House, wondering out loud whether Mitch McConnell would block Donald Trump’s trial from ever taking place. I thought for sure McConnell would pull a Merrick Garland stunt and insist that the trial couldn’t take place within a year of the presidential election, and then perhaps hold a procedural vote to back up his would-be scam.

It turns out, however, that McConnell has no choice but to allow the trial to commence, should the House vote to impeach the president — and it looks like Nancy Pelosi has whipped enough votes to make it all but certain that Donald Trump will become only the third president in history to be impeached by the House, and the third to be tried in the Senate per the language of Article I, Section 3 of the Constitution.

The only legal way Trump can guarantee he won’t be prosecuted after he leaves office is to resign with a Gerald Ford-style pardon from Pence. That’s it. Someone should tell him, because I’m sure he hasn’t yet considered the Sophie’s Choice he faces. Resignation and a presidential pardon, taken together, are Trump’s only path to avoiding prison shy of pulling off another improbable election victory, which is no sure thing, whatever he may say.

Either he quits and gets pardoned, or he loses the election and goes to prison. McConnell can play games during the trial, and Trump might be acquitted. Sure. There are many ways in which that could play out. But if Trump loses next year, he could land in federal lockup before he has a chance to break ground on his presidential library and food court.

But, what if they impeach Pence and Barr at the same time?????????:D

‘Tense relationship’ between Giuliani and Barr is making Trump’s impeachment defense difficult

As the White House tries to establish a coherent narrative in response to the impeachment inquiry launched by House Democrats last week, tensions between President Trump’s personal lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, and his Attorney General, William Barr, are further complicating the process, The Wall Street Journal reports.

According to the report, Trump is simultaneously getting advice from the two very difference lawyers who he reportedly sees as interchangeable, as evidenced by his infamous July 25 call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky where he said that he’d put Zelensky in touch with one or the other to investigate 2020 presidential candidate Joe Biden — a lack of distinction that reportedly shocked and angered Barr. Now Democrats are again calling Barr’s credibility into question, and the Attorney General is finding himself at the center of Trump’s latest scandal.

One way to settle this is a CAGE FIGHT!:D

Grassley defends whistleblower amid Trump attack

Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) defended a whistleblower at the center of the impeachment fight on Tuesday, saying the individual deserves to be "heard out and protected."

“This person appears to have followed the whistleblower protection laws and ought to be heard out and protected. We should always work to respect whistleblowers’ requests for confidentiality," Grassley, who is the chairman of the Senate Whistleblower Protection Caucus, said in a statement.

The GOP senator also knocked "uninformed speculation" about the whistleblower and warned against additional reports about the person's identity after The New York Times reported last week that the individual is a male CIA officer.

“No one should be making judgments or pronouncements without hearing from the whistleblower first and carefully following up on the facts. Uninformed speculation wielded by politicians or media commentators as a partisan weapon is counterproductive and doesn’t serve the country," he said.

If Chuck drops into the "Never Trump" category how many other Senators will vote conviction?

Trump fumes amid impeachment furor

President Trump on Wednesday grew testy with a reporter who pressed him about what he was seeking from Ukraine in relation to Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden, demanding that the reporter ask a question to Finnish President Sauli Niinisö.

Pres Niiniso looked shocked as Trumpski melted down about Ukraine-Gate WB.

The Memo: Polling points to warning signs for GOP on Trump

President Trump is in new and dangerous territory this week, as some Republicans and administration veterans express unease about his actions, and polls show rising support for impeachment.

Voices that are normally supportive of the president have fallen silent, partly out of fear that new revelations could be around the corner.

A CBS News-YouGov poll released Sunday showed majority support for an impeachment inquiry, with 55 percent of respondents nationwide in favor and 45 percent opposed.

A CNN-SSRS poll released Monday showed plurality support for the most dramatic move of all — Trump’s impeachment and removal from office. The CNN poll indicated 47 percent support for such a move among all adults surveyed, with 45 percent against.

OHJ is loosing support, but not as fast as Trumpski is. GOP'ers gonna Dump Trump soon.:D

‘He’s in a tailspin’: Source tells CNN Trump is off the rails and ‘it’s chaos inside the White House’

As Trumpski spins and can not recover. Keep Pounding him. He'll stroke out soon.:D

CNN political Analyst Gloria Borger observed on Wednesday that President Donald Trump seems to be “in a tailspin.”

Borger’s remarks followed a wild Oval Office press conference, in which Trump suggested that Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) should be investigated for treason.

“He’s in a tailspin,” Borger explained. “I was communicating yesterday with somebody very close to the White House who said, ‘Look, it’s chaos inside the White House. There is nobody there who can say no to him. There’s nobody blocking the door to his office.'”

His centre of balance is too far aft to be stable. Maybe if he lost 50 Lbs off his ass he'd just be fat! More Subpoenas!

‘Circular firing squad’: Trump and Pence aides battling each other as president drags VP into his Ukraine mess

During a CNN segment on the increasing chaos at the White House in the face of an impeachment inquiry, a former official in Bill Clinton’s White House said there is a growing rift between Donald Trump’s aides and Vice President Mike Pence’s people as the president tries to drag Pence into his Ukraine scandal that is imperiling his presidency.

former White House Communications Director Joe Lockhart said that the offices of the president and the VP are not on the same page and that is leading to panic in both offices.

“There’s a split between the president’s aides and the vice president’s aides,” Lockhart explained. “That is always a sign of impending disaster. That he [Pence] had nothing to do with this, he didn’t know anything about it, he wasn’t aware of anything.”

Trumpski looking to spread the guilt and Pence uses the "Sgt Schultz Defense".

Why does Trump suddenly seem so weak? GOP and media no longer ‘cowering’ — and the White House ‘has no strategy’

Politico’s Jake Sherman senses a shift in how President Donald Trump is covered by the media and defended by Republicans.

The website’s senior writer and co-author of its Playbook newsletter appeared Thursday on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” where he said Trump’s well-worn strategies for weathering scandals aren’t working now that he’s facing impeachment.

“The president’s strategy here is a little bit worn out, according to all the Republicans we talk to,” Sherman said. “He’s trying to employ the same tool he’s used for the last two years, and it’s not been successful because he’s dealing with a entirely new set of facts. An impeachment inquiry that is obviously extremely legitimate — Congress has the right do this.”

“We’ve heard him talk about the media like this before,” Sherman added. “We’ve heard him call people crooked, we know he doesn’t like Democrats. We know all of these things and, frankly, it’s not having much effect because we’ve heard it now for two years.”

Fake News? Fake PeeResident for sure!:D

‘Never on the Trump train’ Kurt Volker will refuse to ‘take the fall’ for the president — or Giuliani

Any beans to spill, Mr. Volker?

According to reports from both CNN and the Washington Examiner, former Ukraine envoy Kurt Volker is expected to be very forthcoming when he sits down behind closed doors with three congressional committees on Thursday, with the Examiner reporting he is “not willing to take the fall” for any malfeasance committed by the president or his attorney, Rudy Giuliani.

Fox News legal analyst argues Trump has already admitted to ‘criminal behavior’ — and must be impeached

Yep!

“The criminal behavior to which Trump has admitted is much more grave than anything alleged or unearthed by Special Counsel Robert Mueller, and much of what Mueller revealed was impeachable,” Napolitano wrote.

He lays out the definitions of federal law prohibiting the solicitation by a political campaign of anything of value from a foreign national or foreign government, along with bribery and witness intimidation.

And he did this on Fux Gnews!:cattail:

GOP minority leader calls for delay on Trump impeachment until Pelosi agrees to give White House more control over process

Dis fuck'n Guy? What a putz!

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) asked for a pause to the impeachment inquiry until House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) agrees to map out Democratic strategy and give Republicans more control over the process.

The California Republican sent a letter Thursday to Pelosi demanding public answers to 10 questions that appear intended to give the GOP minority and the White House more power over the inquiry.

“I’ve written to Speaker Pelosi to halt the impeachment inquiry until we can receive public answers to the following questions,” McCarthy tweeted. “Given the enormity of the question at hand—impeaching a duly elected president—the American public deserves fairness and transparency.”

McCarthy asked the Democratic majority to put each subpoena request before a full committee vote, give ranking committee chairs subpoena power, and allow the president’s counsel to take part in all depositions, cross-examine and recommend witnesses, and present or object to evidence.

Elections have consequences, dipshit.:)
