Can't say that about most big men in the NBA. He will have to add some muscle to compete, but I would expect him to do that with no problem. He will probably be a disappointment his first year making the adjustment, etc, But after that..watch out.
So do you guys think the Nets were a fluke this year or will Martin, Kidd, and the rest of the crew be able to make it back to the finals again?
Ming does have a good shooting touch and range but when teams no longer have to sign a 7 foot 250 lbs player to guard Shaq I think we will see players who are power forwards now like Tim Duncan, Jermane O'Neil and Kwame Brown moving to center increasing the athleticism and shooting range at the position.
I think his struggle will be with the intensity of the NBA game. I don't see how they could have passed him up but Ming probably won't be one of the top 10 players in the draft and I don't think he'll be one of the top 5 centers 5 years from now.
I don't think the nets were a fluke but they are no sure thing to be in the finals again. The East has so much parity it's ridiculous. It's practically a lottery when it comes to who'll be the eastern conference champion. I think The Heat, Magic and Knicks will challenge next year and the Celtics will be in the run again...but the Hornets, Wizards, Bucks, 6ers, Pacers, and even the Bulls will be in the run too....the only teams in the East who DEFINETLY won't do anything are the Hawks and Cavs...other than that it could be pretty wide open...
P.S-With Caron Butler Riley has the Wing he's coveted for years. I think the Heat will be the team to take the East.
