Kristol: Trump Shouldn't Be the Face of the GOP

"The reason Donald Trump, at the very end of your interview, raised out of nowhere this thing, "I can beat Hillary Clinton," is because I think it's beginning to hurt him among Republican primary voters.

On February 1st, the day of Iowa, Trump trailed Clinton in a bunch of polls, if you averaged them, by about 3 points. Now he trails by 11 points.

What's happened in those two months to Hillary Clinton's campaign and Donald Trump's campaign?

The voters -- voters who matter, that is, except Trump's base of 38 percent or so of the Republican electorate, the voters you need to win a general election, are not being won over by Donald Trump, they're being alienated and turned off by Donald Trump."

I hope sincerely that Trump doesn't get elected. Nothing I've heard of what he's said thus far has impressed me in the least and I fear not only for America but for the rest of the world should he become president.

Take heart. The campaign season is young yet. Much can and will happen at and after the conventions. Expect many nasty surprises and maybe some glowing hopes.

The current clusterfuck is nothing new. USA has gone through such cycles before, after a new communications technology provides propagandists and politicians with new media tools to bullshit and bamboozle the public. Cheap newspapers; telegraph, railroads, and telephone; cheap color printing; radio, television, and now the Web -- each triggered political restructuring here.

This campaign season will be spun with swarms of media players. Clinton (who will probably steal the Dem nomination) and the GOP mainstream (who will try to screw Tromp off the ticket) run vast money machines concentrating on media buys. Tromp will continue his free-media strategy of tweets and phone calls to talk shows, ignoring and excoriating most journalists. Sanders enjoys a volunteer army of tech-savvy insurgents creating a plethora of attacks, and a huge donor base to support the needed media buys. So the contest is really between mainstream machines vs unexpected insurgencies.

I hate to say it, but: Bet on the machines to win. Hillary has the most money, the biggest machine. In our history, whoever spends the most usually (almost always) wins the Presidency. Unless something unexpected occurs, such as indictments, terror attacks, disasters etc, expect President Clinton II.

Keep in mind The National Enquirer supports Trump. Cruz hadda explain all the girl friends to his dotters.

and who reads the National Enquirer and who actually believes what they write???

Of course, that one story about Aliens, well, that was true...

Well Trump may be garbage, but he's still leagues better than Clinton...

To bad Paul dropped out, and to bad not enough American voters are looking at the Libertarian Party's candidates.

Though most of them sound like white guilt, SJW NWO supporters, half of what I hear them saying in the debates are how colonialism is evil and we owe reparations, borders are evil and let all the Dreamers come and work, the sound like progressives.

So on second thought, screw the Libertarian candidates, we need Ron or Rand Paul to get write ins.

Or Sheriff Clarke, I'd vote for him if he was running.

Donald Trump Humiliates Himself By Cowering In Fear Over Female Reporter’s Pen

Republican front-runner Donald Trump couldn’t defend his campaign manger Corey Lewandowski after tape revealed that he had indeed assaulted Breitbart reporter Michelle Fields, so he resorted to the typical abuser defense: He’s a victim, too.

The man with the Little Fingers is scared of Michelle Fields and her pen/stylus:

Donald Trump is showing exactly the kind of leader he would be, and the Republican base loves it. They love him attacking a woman who has allegedly already been attacked by his campaign manager, because the Trump voter hates being held accountable for their own actions.

Donald Trump is the kind of person who secretly kicks his small dog when no one is looking.

Donald Trump is afraid of a pen, even though he has secret service and Fields never touched him. So strong, Putin must be terrified.

Not a team player, that man.

http://www.theguardian.com/us-news/...-revokes-pledge-to-support-republican-nominee

Donald Trump has backtracked on his much ballyhooed pledge to support the eventual Republican nominee as he deals with swirling controversy after his campaign manager was charged with assaulting a reporter.

In a television town hall in Milwaukee with CNN on Tuesday night, Trump insisted he had been “treated very unfairly” by the Republican National Committee and the establishment and revoked the commitment he signed in September. Although the Republican frontrunner previously hinted that he might do so, saying the RNC was “in default”, he had never explicitly revoked his commitment until Tuesday.

What the fuck is SJW? Super Jewish Wizard?
SJW may refer to:

* Shawnee language (ISO 639-3: sjw)
* Shijiazhuang Zhengding International Airport (IATA: SJW)
* Sino-Japanese War
* Sir James Whitney School for the Deaf
* SJW Corp, a water utility company in California
* Social Justice Warrior, pejorative term for someone who raises social justice issues for personal aggrandization
* Stanford Jazz Workshop
* St. John's Wort, a medicinal herb

I suspect a hatred of Social Justice. Just because you're paranoid, doesn't mean they aren't out to get you. Just because someone craves personal aggrandization, doesn't mean social justice issues aren't real. Hey, doesn't Tromp's campaign for social and economic justice for blue-collar Americans? And isn't he a self-aggrandizing asshole? Q.E.D.

Trump’s Top Strategist Just Quit And Wrote This Brutal Open Letter To Trump Voters

One of Donald Trump’s top campaign strategists, former communications director Stephanie Cegielski, has resigned from his campaign in protest of Trump’s ridiculous statement that “only he can solve” the bombing in Pakistan (whatever that might mean). She has penned a devastating open letter to his supporters, explaining to us why she originally supported Trump, and how his excess and dishonesty turned her against him. She issues a stark warning to Trump supporters that the supposed “authenticity” of Trump is nothing but smoke and mirrors, a soap opera character – and that at the end of the day, Donald Trump only cares about himself. A brutal denunciation of Trump as both a candidate and a person, it might be the most complete evisceration of the orange-haired rabble-rouser yet written.

Will it matter, aren't Trumpettes immune to facts and logic?

When their fuehrer is criticized, yes, immunity rules. Supporters won't even see this letter and it wouldn't matter if they did. People believe what they wish. That's why I don't *argue* politics-religion-economics-etc; nobody's convictions are shaken by argument. All we do is clarify our positions.

Trompers are already set -- and the vast majority have valid reasons to back the bastard's take on visas, free trade, exported jobs, economic outrage, etc. Alas, he bundles it with racist, misogynist, arrogant know-nothing-ism. He's channeling lots of righteous outrage with a heavy dose of whoop-ass mixed in.

My forecast: Tromp will not be President. He'll have his fun and go away, leaving a smashed GOP (with its infrastructure intact), the usual mainstream money machines, and a public even more polarized than now. Who will be the next to channel underclass outrage? Who besides Sanders (whose nomination will be stolen) isn't pwned by the 1%? I foresee bad shit coming down.

GOP could lose Congress with Trump: strategist

Republicans could lose both the House and Senate if Donald Trump is the party’s presidential nominee, according to one GOP strategist.

“Absolutely, absolutely,” Republican strategist Ted Newton said when asked if the Republican majorities could be at risk this fall.

"I wouldn't want my future as Speaker to be hinging on someone who is unhinged," Netwon said of Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.).

To hear Newton in his own words, watch the video above.

I hope that's true.

Trump call to punish women for illegal abortions sparks firestorm

Donald Trump sparked a firestorm on Wednesday when he said women should be punished for getting illegal abortions.

“There has to be some form of punishment,” the GOP presidential front-runner told MSNBC's Chris Matthews during a combative interview.

Matthews had asked Trump whether he would seek to ban abortion and how he would enforce such a policy.

“The answer is that there has to be some form of punishment,” Trump said in the interview taped for a town hall forum airing later Wednesday.

“For the woman?” Matthews asked.

“Yeah, there has to be some form,” Trump responded.

Matthews pressed Trump repeatedly on abortion and to clarify his own stance.

“Should abortion be punished? This is not something you can dodge,” he asked Trump.

“Well, people in certain parts of the Republican Party, conservative Republicans, would say, ‘Yes, they should be punished,’ ” Trump responded.

Trump may have lost 30% of the electorate with that smart assed answer. And he may have sabotaged every Rthuglican running!

Trump angst pours in from overseas governments

Lobbyists in Washington say they are being flooded with questions and concerns from foreign governments about the rise of Donald Trump.

Officials around the globe are closely following the U.S. presidential race, to the point where some have asked their American lobbyists to explain, in great detail, what a contested GOP convention would look like.

The questions about Trump are “almost all-consuming,” said Richard Mintz, the managing director of Washington-based firm The Harbour Group, whose client list includes the governments of Georgia and the United Arab Emirates.

After a recent trip to London, Abu Dhabi and Beijing, “it’s fair to say that all anyone wants to talk about is the U.S. presidential election,” Mintz added. “People are confused and perplexed.”

The Hill conducted interviews with more than a half-dozen lobbyists, many of whom said they are grappling with how to explain Trump and his unusual foreign policy views to clients who have a lot riding on their relationship with the United States.

“We’re in uncharted territory here,” said one lobbyist with foreign government clients who asked not to be identified.

“The questions coming from the international community are not different than the things, categorically, we’re asking ourselves,” said Nathan Daschle, the president and chief operating officer of the Daschle Group, a firm run by his father, former Sen. Tom Daschle (D-S.D.).

“There’s an added level of bafflement because this is not the United States that they’ve been living with for so long,” Daschle said. “This is not the image the United States has been projecting.”

Trump is causing the world to go, "Oh Fuck! That asshole, what will he do?"

Of course, once again it's not what he said. Why should the truth get in the way of a media with an agenda?

Well it is what he was quoted as saying. But I suppose you were there and so you can quote him more accurately, maybe?

Do elucidate us RU. Loosen those limber lips and fingers.

He was being interviewed by Chris "Hillary's demon pawn" Matthews and said women who break the law should be subject to some punishment. How fucking vague could he possibly be. The left got their little ort from the table.to run off and talk about for three days, three weeks, three months....to eternity. Give it all a break you lemmings.

He also stated that he'd invalidate Roe V Wade to make it illegal.

I agree Chris Mathews is a establishment shill.

Between today with MSNBC and being called a 5-year-old by Anderson Cooper, Trump's FINALLY being called out by the media!
