Den of iniquity

Etymology: Unclear, but probably inspired by the "den of thieves" in the KJV Bible (Matthew 21:13: My house shall be called the house of prayer; but you have made it a den of thieves), which is a calque of Latin spēlunca latrōnum.

Just sayin... ;)
And your point is?

The new porn laws in England are a good thing!
You heard it here first, these age verification schemes will result in massive personal data exposure. You might as well just post your credit card #s and government ID to paste bin.

I'm all for limiting exposure for children, but this will not turn out the way they thought when the wrote the law and kids (teens especially) will find ways around any technical control. The old men who come up with these laws are so horribly misinformed.

I think anyone who doesn't believe that, at some point, there's going to be a massive personal data exposure from all the age verification stuff is extremely naïve.

On one hand, I am ready to have a massive overhaul of all adult activity I enjoy, and on the other I'm in a "Fuck You" attitude and am ready to be "exposed". I'll defend all my perverse choices to friends, family and strangers if I have to because I refuse to be shamed and beaten down for my *personal* activities that are completely within legal boundaries of being a grown ass woman.

I understand the need to protect children, absolutely. But you're right - the younger ones will always find a way. Just like we always found a way to break rules and whatnot.

On a side note: I now cannot access any audio stories, so whilst I'm still currently able to be on the forum and read the stories, the audios are now 'dead' for me.

Use a free VPN (Proton is good) and you will be able to access them again

From my 20s yo old son-

Many young people are moving away from internet everything. The data gathering and advertisements are out of control. Smart phones too. Many are going to dumb phones. He hears of this backlash all the time now.

I'm pretty much an atheist on most days, and certainly a non-Christian even on the days I'm not feeling being an atheist, but I've never seen Jesus as a negative character. Indeed, a meta-analysis of the New Testament tends to show that the Jesus character is mainly a pretty chill dude. That patriarchs of the Old Testament were not chill dudes, however... not even fucking close to chill. And too many Christians ignore their mainly peace loving, Marxist leaning hippie messiah to cling to the laws handed down from those very unchill patriarchs.

You said the reason they were called football is because the players run around in the field

So by your reasoning, hockey, lacrosse and cricket should also be called football
Are you trying to argue that association football is called football because they mostly kick the ball around with their feet? Do you have an explanation as to why the older sport of rugby football is called football despite not kicking the ball all that much? Are you embracing your Trumpian side with this sort of argument?

Controversial opinion.

This is the best punk rock song ever.

Ooooookayyyy...

Am I arguing that Association Football, a game where the ball is almost exclusively propelled by the feet and only one player is allowed to use their hands, is called football because they mainly kick the ball?

Yes. That's exactly what I'd argue. In much the same way that handball is a ball game where the participants use their hands, and volleyball is so called because the ball isn't allowed to be caught.

Rugby football was first played in 1823 in Rugby school (a town in England) where according to legend a boy, William Webb Ellis, picked to the ball during a game of football and ran with it. It is named Rugby after the place, and the Rugby Union World Cup is named after him. It was first codified in 1845.

Association football wasn't codified until 1863, but just because it was codified afterwards it doesn't mean Rugby came first.

The thing about both games is that every player is allowed to kick the ball whenever it is in play.

American football, by contrast, is played almost exclusively with the hands, and only a few players are actually allowed to kick the ball, and only on specific occasions.

You argued
They are all called ‘football’ because the players run around on a field.
When I pointed out that means any game where you run around on a field such as lacrosse is, by your definition, a form of football
Those sports are not called football.
Do lacrosse players run around on the field? Yes
Then why isn't it called Lacrosse football, if that's the reason why games are called football.

Oh, and nice touch calling me Trumpian for having a view you disagree with...

Gridiron should be called gridiron or eggball or throwball

Avocados are gross. There i said it!
There are different types of avos so to just lump them as one I would say is wrong. I am not particularly fond of Green Avos (nothing to do with ripeness) but I absolutely love Hass Avos. That said I will eat sliced avo plain on pizza but my fave is half avo mashed in it's skin with ground black pepper and balsamic vinegar, you should try it ;)
