Rush - Roll The Bones (album)

Seems like I'm on another Rush bender. First its my fave albums (Moving Pictures, Presto, Roll The Bones, Counterparts, Clockwork Angels), then the ones I'm less familiar with. Probably Signals or Vapor Trails.

George Thorogood and the Destroyers.

No, wait, my playlist just switched to Telemann.

Shuffle is a powerful tool.

slave_ is a huge fan of Signals. One of my favs is Grace Under Pressure. At the end of the day, they're all good.

I like Signals as well - wasn't aware that it's basically Moving Pictures II. Some less than optimal mixes aside (Presto and Roll The Bones sound very harsh and thin), I have yet to hear a "bad" Rush album. They are amazingly consistent.

Electric Callboy - Pump it!
Electric Callboy - We Got The Moves

Okay, that's weird even for me. These guys wanted to represent Germany at this year's Eurovision contest, but the broadcaster responsible for hosting the voting show thought they were not the right fit - despite their video netting more likes than every other national contestant's output combined. Maybe it was their former name "Eskimo Callboy" and the potentially racist connotation that might include, maybe it was their extremely loud style. Well, they got A LOT of exposure and I have to admit that I've warmed up to their particular brand of humor and style of music. It sure kicks ass and has a ton of energy, things I need right now.

For anyone who's interested - instead of the party anthem "Pump It!", we're sending this guy. Inoffensive radio drivel ticking the diversity checklist. A guy with barely three pubes has no right to reminisce about the "good old days!"

Really classy, Norddeutscher Rundfunk! This will end pretty much like everything since 2012 - on last place or very much near it. Other countries get kicked off the show for failing too often, but since Germany is one of the "Big 5" funding the whole affair, the people running the ESC nationals can basically do what they want without any repercussions - and that includes collecting one "Germany - 0 points" after another. I'll watch the ESC and have my Schadenfreude-Cocktail ready to go.

Back to Electric Callboy. "We Got The Moves" is especially funny because not only do they look like a strange Devo offshoot, but the dude at the end yelling at them reminds me of home and my dad when he got angry. No wonder - Electric Callboy and I share the same home town. *flex*
