What Are You Listening to Now 7.0

Wow. Sends shivers down my spine. Ukrainian Army 3rd Special Forces Regiment song, (3rd Separate Regiment of Prince Sviatoslav the Brave) - "Song of the Brave". Translation of the lyrics from Ukrainian is my best shot. Reminds me of one of those old Viking chants.

The evening is on fire,
Brothers have joined the ranks,
A hand laid on my shoulder,
It's time for us to go, it's time for us to go!
Chorus:
Step by step, in the shadows,
Wolves go hunting.
Swords consecrated in battle
Taken from the ground, held in our hands.
Forged by our ancestors in battle,
Steel hard, enemy fear ...
Chorus.
The power of the spirits is amongst us,
In the gray steppes, our seas,
In the circle of valor, victory
Prince's two-swords on our shields ...
Chorus.
The fire of sacrifice goes up,
Black shields are in ranks,
Hands on swords
Time for us to go, time for us to go! ..
Chorus.
Fallen in battle in the midst of the wild fields
Leading from the front, calling to action.
Let's remember the trinity today
And fight again, and fight again!
Chorus.
Battleships that go under the wind,
Paving the way for our sons,
Years later, our grandfather's flags
flutter in our regiments

Enough Martinis have sashayed past me that I can mellow out now, 'tis Saturday night and I give not a f*ck, so listening to UB40 - Labour of Love.

Mahler, Das Lied von der Erde.

My tastes are eclectic. I'll probably listen to Trio, Da Da Da next.

I just found out recently that Michael A. Jones, an incredible pianist, just died in January. One of my favorite albums of his is "Amber" that he did with David Darling. While looking for Michael's obituary, I found out that David Darling, a renown cellist, had died in January 2021. Now I'm really bummed. Listen to this album and enjoy how a piano and cello can make beautiful music together. Tracks 1 and 4, "Rainfall" and "Wu Wei" are especially beautiful.

Michael Jones, along with David Darling and Nancy Rumbel, a renown oboeist, got together to do two beautiful albums titled "After the Rain" and "Magical Child." Listen to them to hear how a piano, cello, and oboe can make beautiful music together. My all-time favorite song is on the album "Magical Child" titled "Lullaby," which, in my opinion, is the most beautiful instrumental music piece ever recorded.

Green Asphalt's eponymous first album

Fans of Gentle Giant should love this album.

Bent Knee : Frosting

So far, much more imaginative than their recent catalog.

Their "Say So" was excellent, but I haven't been as impressed by their subsequent releases. I'm only 4 tracks in, but so far, this one impresses.

Sadly, I thing they were trying too hard to be "creative". It's still a good listen, though.

District 97 : Screenplay

Similar to the above : I liked their first album (and saw them perform it live) - but lost interest after subsequent releases.

Let's see how this one plays...

Nah - sadly, not as impressed as I hoped I'd be. :(
