2024 Nude Day Contest support thread

You may not have meant me, but I’ll take the compliment anyway. This has been loads of fun. I never hoped to win, but I’m quite content with how my story did. I may need to try another contest!
Contests are addictive. They absolutely help readership as it showcases your work and readers then easily find your backlist.
Glad you had a lot of fun. Look forward to reading more of your future contest work.

Okay, just a little over an hour left to get those 2024 Nude Day stories in.
If you miss it, don't panic; you can either sit on it until next year or repose it for the Summer contest.
Good luck everyone!

I remember years ago I had two stories in the Nude contest when the resident annoying idiot was yammering on about how writers should only be allowed one story per contest, two was annoying and wrong and three or more were a 'crime to the site' and the offending author should be banned permanently from the site. He was screaming for Laurel to pull the "excess stories" off the contest.
Let's be honest, he did all this posturing only to increase his own odds at winning.
Well, I couldn't resist. I loved getting under his skin. It was about 11:00 with one hour before the contest ended, so I rolled up my sleeves and banged away. a little after 11:30 and I submitted my third 'offending' story. It wasn't great but it still has a little over 4.0 voting. I'll take it.
I also remember that dear TxRad also submitted multiple entries that year just to piss him off.
Ah, good times.

Little less than an hour to enter.
Cue cheesy '80s rock: blast Europe "Final Countdown" from the virtual speakers.

Submitted! It's terrible and I don't feel like it's where I was quality wise a year ago, but it's done. Hopefully that's what it'll take to get me writing some new stuff again. Thank you all!

Congrats. Enjoy writing!
Make sure you put a link to your story here when it gets uploaded.

I'm over 400 votes. With a story this long as Les ( who doesn't have RR's street cred in the category ) it's a win in my book. Les is getting some action on the back catalog as well.

That 's great; good for you - I'd take that as a win.
It's funny, but as a MST fan I've always had a soft spot for Les' avatar, but I seem to prefer RR's stories to Les'. I guess I have to dip back in both catalogs.
Good luck with the contest.

Darkniciad's avatar is Tom Servo breaking through a wall and shouting Hai Keeba! LOL He also has a series of stories called LST3K that takes awful erotica and riffs on it.

While submissions are closed the contest is far from over. We have a week to go until winners are announced on July 12th.
Please feel free to use this space to talk up your story. Tease us, give us a blurb, make us want to dash to the contest page Here! and read your fantastic story.
Also by all means talk up other contest stories you've read and enjoyed.
The cast of stories for the 2024 Nude Day Contest are now set in stone; let's celebrate them and show them the love they deserve.
Congrats to all and best of luck!

Submitted my entry, "Yesenia’s Naked Challenge" last night about 10:30pm EST, showing as pending this morning and should be live tomorrow. Next time I have to start earlier, hated rushing to get it finished.

One thing I find interesting is that now the list is randomised every time, so no one gets the benefit of being the first and collecting all the views, like it happened in the past contests. Which is a good thing, love that!

I see some interesting stories, but need to find time for reading somehow.

As to my entry - it got a lot of views alright, but only a handful of votes and no feedback. Can only assume that something must be off that bores people. Well, better luck for me next time…

It's been that way as long as I can remember, at least for contests. Perhaps not for challenges?

Good luck, everybody! I like what I've read so far, and my story's found an audience. So I'm happy.

What happens when an exhibitionist takes a voyeur to a nudist resort? Despite my nameless narrator's trepidation, he lets his girlfriend Mel take him on what she calls a "camping trip".

"The people are closer, I realise, all crowding round. They're leering at Mel, and I don't like that. They're laughing at my cock, and I don't like that either. Then they're all women, naked and hot, and I really don't like that because I love Mel, and I'm still feeling guilty about that time I was ogling her friend, despite what happened, and now Mel's hand is gripping my cock like a vice, and there's an angry look on her face--"

It's when he finds a tiny black kitten that things take a sudden turn...

Today's reading was Through The Watching Glass, by @EmilyMiller. A story about watching and being watched, the perfect kind of sex for a socially awkward person.

Yep, it's been randomized for years. Maybe it's been glitching out and remaining fixed for long periods in recent contests? That's hardly outside the realm of possibility. I think I even saw someone posting something to that effect a few contests ago.

Good luck to everyone! Only three people take prizes, but pretty much everyone wins in a themed contest with the extra exposure leading to new fans perusing your back catalog. I'm up around 20 new followers since this one hit, and I'm getting not just favorites on old stories, but the ever so rare and precious comments as well. Bonus, most of the comments are on my fantasy work that's the main focus of the pen name. :D

As long as we're sharing story links, here's mine. The MC has a sudden thought one day:

If I waited until two o'clock in the morning, I could walk down my driveway stark naked.

Adventures follow. It's taken since June 14 to get to 278 votes, which I'm happy with, but I hope to catch up to the veterans here eventually. And if anyone feels like critiquing my work, I'd love to hear what some of the more experienced authors thinks.

I have picked up a handful of new followers, and my previous stories are getting a bit of attention too. So I win!

I agree that it helps avoid the ‘first’ story benefit but it does make it difficult to keep track of which stories have been read and which ones are the newer ones. More than once I’ve started reading one only to realize I had already read it, which is not a big deal. They should keep things just as they are.

i've been reading comments on this thread since the beginning and I didn't realise that I should have posted a link to my story on the thread. This is my first time posting anything on the site and I thought it would help get more exposure if it was in a contest though I don't expect winning, not with all the seasoned authors participating. BTW how do I create a link to my story to post it here? My story is called The Naked Motorcyclist (oh it worked; just tried something ).
Another question: I see some of you speaking of the number of views they've had so far. How do you get that information? My personal page only informs me when somebody has commented or added the story as favorite - only 4 comments to date though it was online since the first day. i suppose that's the fate of newbies.

Use the icon that looks like a chain; marked here with the red rectangle: 1720298294288.png

I think copy-pasting a link from the website works too.

Click on Works in your panel (my.literotica.com), it's visible on the story list there:

From one newbie to another, welcome! I’ll be sure to read your story.

If you really want to nerd out and know Excel or some other spreadsheet program, look in the headers of the page TheLobster linked you to. You'll see a little icon that looks like an arrow pointing down at a hard drive. Click that and it will download a comma delimited file of the stats for all your published stories that you can load up into your favorite spreadsheet program and play with.

( Note that if any of your titles contain commas you'll need to edit the downloaded file in wordpad or some other basic text editor to change the commas that are part of a title to a dash or something. Otherwise it will go wonky when you load it up in Excel. And if you see any columns that look like letter salad or are blank, try stretching out the column until it turns back into something intelligible. )
