If you voted for Trump, you support him & you own him forever. Fuck your "safe space"

One House already passed a continuing resolution...wanna guess which House that was?

The Congress is Constitutionally required to pass a Federal Budget. They can't seem to do that so what they're trying to do is cheat and pass Continuing Resolutions. CR's are NOT a "Federal Budget" so the Congress isn't DOING it's job and hasn't been doing their job for several years now.

Constitutionally, Trump has to submit a proposed budget to the Congress and they act on it through debate and legislation. In his proposed budget Trump said he needs 40 Billion for border security, including constructing "the wall". D's in the House say he only gets 1.6 Billion and can't use ANY of it for "the wall."

From the House the bill goes to the Senate. If it passes, or is reconciled, the Senate submits it to the Prez. Trump can sign, veto, or do nothing. That's his JOB as Prez.

In this case Trump has said that unless he gets at least 5 Billion and can use it for the "the wall" he's not going to sign. McConnell has refused to send the current bill to the Prez because he won't sign it.

Hence the current situation.

Guess what - Paleosi is now trying to tell the Prez he either gets what she gives him or he gets nothing. Trump's response was to shut down the gov because he has NO BUDGET to operate the gov on.

The ball is in Paleosi's court. Either she plays it or goes home. Give Trump the money for the wall, or don't and risk the veto. Paleosi knows she doesn't have the votes to override a veto. Which sounds like a stalemate except the Gov is shut down until Paleosi does something that Trump likes so he'll sign the bill.

She either has to blink or go home. It's as simple as that. Paleosi's Whip, Steny Hoyer, has already started distancing himself from Paleosi's position.

With only a few vote margin for her to get the Speaker's Gavel back, Paleosi is in between a rock and a hard spot. Trump has shut down the Gov and her own party is starting to not like her heavy handedness.

The D's are losing this game. If he stands firm, Trump will get what he wants. And that's how Gov runs.

Timmeh, the above revisionist horseshit is Que-level stupid, and borderline BotanyBoy-level stupid.

Nancy Pelosi is the Speaker of the House of Representatives.
She has had the House pass a budget.
The Senate, led by Republican Mitch McConnell, has refused to vote up or down on the legislation because McConnell refuses to bring it to a vote.
Why? Because he knows Trump will veto this budget to avoid being seen as weak.

I don't know what law school you attended, but at accredited law schools...hell, at most American Government 101 classes, you are taught that the SENATE has the authority to override a Presidential veto.

....and McConnell doesn't have the 60 votes necessary for a veto override.

....and McConnell knows this.

....and he also knows that if Trump DOES veto the continuing resolution and the veto override fails, blame will shift from Trump to McConnell's Republican Senators.

Trump is playing a high stakes game, and he will blink first. Not Pelosi.

And do you know when he is going to blink? When the TSA stays home. They can't legally strike, of course. But they could stage rolling sick-outs at hub airports like Chicago, Atlanta, JFK and Dallas.

Air travel would be in turmoil. Even the most ardent MAGA brain will get upset if his flight to Mama's funeral is cancelled. Most importantly, American business will NOT be amused....Trump will be forced to fold his tent or we'll see President Pence in a month.

Edited to add: I goofed. Both the house and senate have to override a budget veto. My bad. I'm not Botany Boy, I own up to my errors.

some people dont get it...let me make it easy for our dumber members. A continuing resolution continues spending levels of the previous budget.

Always that same third. The base. The high minded intellectuals who would still support 45 even if he did shoot someone in the street - especially if they were a liberal.

Is there any way we can get them out of our country?!

I don't know what law school you attended, but at accredited law schools...hell, at most American Government 101 classes, you are taught that the SENATE has the SOLE authority to override a Presidential veto.

No, it takes both houses.

I wonder why Congress didnt pass Trump's budget when they had control of both congressional wings? That's right....I remember...because the republicans couldnt agree in their own party. Losers

Air traffic controllers don't seem too keen on the current situation in addition to the TSA. Neither does the FBI nor the Coast Guard.

I think you do call out something very interesting. When will the 800K, especially those being forced to work without pay (like some banana fucking republic like Venezuela) rally and make their pain be felt a little more broadly?

Well, can you all get together in one place and scooch together? I'm low on ammunition.

Some states aren't worth supporting. They contribute nothing. Far more efficient to pass the amendment and let the dead weight go.

And look, the GOP has officially ceased to exist as a big tent political party, or political party period, and is now the Personality Cult of the Orange-u-Tan:

The ATC Union pretty much came out and said today that they expect fatalities at this point.

Blah blah blah

And Trump is saying, "I get what I want or I shutdown the government so people can't pay their bills. law enforcement can't prosecute crimes, pursue child sex traffickers, curtail food safety inspections, air traffic safety inspections, aid to farmers fucked by my trade wars...."

from your link
The No. 2 Democrat in the House told Neil Cavuto on "Your World" Tuesday that "physical barriers are part of the solution" to border security, but said President Trump was wrong to allow the government to partially shut down.
Which is in line with 93% of the people who support building the wall, that Trump is wrong to shut down the government.

The D's are losing this game. If he stands firm, Trump will get what he wants. And that's how Gov runs.
yeah, that's why Trump's approval rating is declining, the majority say he own's the shutdown and only 7% of his supporters who are in favor of the wall think he's right to shut down the government.

And do you know when he is going to blink? When the TSA stays home. They can't legally strike, of course. But they could stage rolling sick-outs at hub airports like Chicago, Atlanta, JFK and Dallas.
They already are and with the super bowl weekend in Atlanta people are getting very nervous.

I've seen deplorables on here try to spin this bullshit within the last two weeks; example: https://forum.literotica.com/showthread.php?t=1493212&highlight=trump&page=3 They want a safe space to be judged in, now that their messiah is being exposed as the worst modern President of the U.S. to the entire world.

Let's be clear: you voted for him = you support him. He's yours.

He's yours because that's what happens when you vote for someone.

He's yours because he's a racist, sexist homophobe, like you are.

He's yours because you'll never convince anyone you were simply voting against the other choices, when Trump is the exact personification of all the prejudices you prayed would get validated and empowered someday.

The scarlet letter is on your head, for all to see. You can't hide it. (News flash: you deplorables can't ever hide your prejudices or ignorance. You're too proud of them.) Remember: no one will ever forget.

Double down, and support him fully. Or don't. You're screwed either way.

If ignorance is bliss, you must be the happiest person on the planet.
