Yikes! I've never seen some of those names before! Where have I been?

Thanks Lauren - I think I'll do the blinfold-and-pin method. It'd probably be as accurate as any other way.

Remember that the Contest was announced on the main page for a few days, to call the attention to people that normally wouldn't come here.

Vote on the poems, not the people. :D

I'm  Which is not unusual. Were we supposed to write a poem in a smithpeter fashion, or write a poem in our own style that something of his inspired?

When it comes to voting I have a similar problem. Should I have given more weight to a poem that sounded more like smithpeter, or should I have voted for a poem that I liked better but may not have reminded me of his writing?

Not me, and certainly not Angeline, but I guess you can do it, providing you promise not to peek at The Poets' Inbox. :D
No. I never did open or look at those PMs since I wasn't doing the polls. By the way, what's in your mouth now?

Either of them would be appropriate, i think. To write a poem in his style would be a nice homage, but writing in other people's voices is such a violence. All we asked was for people to read some of his work and let Poetry take over.

I would vote for the best poem. :)

Umm... Well, let's go for what's in the av.
The rather violently suckled remains of a juicy orange segment. Don't try that at home, unless you're naked and have no concerns over how the room might end up.

and suddenly I want to write

" Oh to be an orange...."

Right here, right now, in other words.

It doesn't look like an orange. Is some freaky Portuguese orange?
