To pick up on a sub-topic mentioned a few pages back, one very good movie, not at all stereotypical, is "One Night Stand" with Wesley Snipes and Nastasia Kinsky. I mean that when a black guy walks hand in hand with a white girlfriend, people look at them almost as shocked as if a male gay couple were walking along, and you hear comments like 'Hoh! well I never', and 'that's indecent, just out for sex those two, sex sex SEX!' and 'I for one am outraged I tell you, shocked and OUTRAGED!'.

I didn't realise that no one else had ever felt people (usually old people) being 'shocked' around them when they've been out as half of an interracial couple. It's not like I care, actually it just makes me even keener on white chicks in a way.

I'm sure you know exactly what I mean, the kind of 'problem withs' that some people feel they need to make part of someone elses interracial/gay/interreligious or any over 'shocking' type relationship. But only interracial and gay relationships are so visualy 'shocking' to some people.

Gay's are often 'shockingly homosexual' when two muscle-marys for instance walk hand in hand down the road wearing their leather caps and showing large patches of sweaty adonis-type bod. Interracial couples are 'shockingly heterosexual' in direct proportion to the difference in skin tone.

When I see couples I try to give them the benifit of the doubt and assume they're with each other because they like one another and not because of some ulterior motive (curiosity, status, pissing off the parents, etc.)

I've heard several black men say that they date white women because they're more docile and accepting than black women. Then there's the whole phenominon of the successful black guy who gets the good job, the big house, the nice car and the white trophy wife. Or the black guys who fuck white women for sport and talk about them like dogs behind their backs. None of these scenerios involve one person being with another because they actually like them and that's sad. Hopefully this is the exception and not the rule. That's why I said I give couples the benifit of the doubt.

I must admit, I, too, am a sucker for that color contrast. I have dated/slept with several white, black, Mexican, Asian, and Native American men, and I love 'em all, but that color contrast does do something to me!

Asian and latino... those are the only ones I haven't slept with yet. I've never had the opportunity at the right time, so to speak.
It's the same with me - I prefer black men or Arabian or Kurdish men, because I think the skin color/hair color/eye color looks so much more attactive than the plain ol' white/blond/blue that I'm used to.

But I think everyone will agree with me that what attracts you physically has nothing to do with what attracts you to another person's soul.
