The Travel Thread

Making plans for Alaska 2022 and then back to Rome in 2023 (hopefully) with a 3 days stay over in Malta.
I try to travel somewhere at least twice a year, but this past year it's been mostly a week at the beach somewhere on the east coast USA.
Not nearly as much fun as international travel, but getting away is getting away, wouldn't you agree?

I hope you get to do your trips. It’s nice to have something to look forward to! Alaska would be an interesting place to visit. The nature looks so majestic there.

I still have 10+ vacation days left that I have to use before the end of April and no plans. Weird. I hope I get to see Iris next year, that’s my only travel goal at the moment. :)

Alaska sounds really interesting. I find myself looking at pictures in awe in this thread at times: http://forum.literotica.com/showthread.php?t=1521621

Malta is a place I’ve been curious about since I fell in love with The Devil’s Stream and The Grand Priory Mill by the Kampa in Prague and started to read more about the crusaders and the Knights of Malta.

And now I miss Prague again.

If Omicron doesn’t get out of hand I think it will work out as we planned. Fingers crossed!
I have a work trip to Stockholm planned this spring. I hope that will work out as planned too.
I’ve kind of given up on feeling certain about these things. :(

It is an incredible place to visit. We've already done the cruise thing, this time we are going deeper up into Denali and Fairbanks.

I left the United States 30 November 2021 for Colombia 🇨🇴. I'm currently living here as an expat.

That’s a big change!

Is it a limited time thing for you with an end date in sight or an indefinite stay? How have you find life there?

@seela Colombia is amazing! Wonderful people, fascinating culture, great food, coffee, and absolutely stunning women. And yes it's safe but like anywhere on the planet these days you must keep your head on a swivel and stay aware of your surroundings.
I have already applied for a retirement visa that will allow me to stay here for 3 years.

We made it to Hawaii last month. Hope the travel starts again. Have several camping trips planned.

Trying to remember how to travel again.
Do I follow my love for extra sleep or for avoiding humans in the morning?

Did you remember how to do it? :)

I *almost* left the country again, but J didn’t want to go in the end (for understandable but annoying reasons and I’m super bummed out because of it) and I don’t think it’s ok for me to go alone for an anniversary trip, so still kinda homebound for the time being.

We’ll take a little trip to another city here instead.

I managed to get on trains and I remembered how to get a cab in the big city.
The breakfast thing is a toss up.
I hope you can still arrange something fun to do!

That’s a good outcome!

I’m sad the original plan had to be scrapped for…reasons. But I think it’ll be okay and we’ll have a fun getaway for a few days, plans are afoot. :)

I’m currently doing mental prep for taking a ferry. Like how does it work again? How do I find out which harbor, which terminal and the likes? It’s been so long since the last time. :D

Well, can’t help you much with the ferry but I can recommend The Ordinary Squalene Cleanser. Comes in a smallish tube, is not liquid, cleans skin and removes even waterproof make up reasonably well. Yay!

Non liquids are great when flying. Also often more ecological. ☺️

I’m off to a little trip today. Still won’t be leaving the country but at least I’ll be leaving the mainland. I’m excited, despite the weather being woeful to say the least. I’m preparation for icky weather I booked fun places to stay, so even if I end up having to stay indoors a lot, I’ll be comfortable. ☺️

(I also did manage to remember how the ferry thing works.)

Fingers crossed for calmest possible weather. Have fun!

Heading to Prescott AZ in a couple weeks. Look me up on Whiskey Row if you’re in the area 😁

Took my first trip out of the country since June 2019. Made it to my last Nordic country, Norway! Skied the Norwegian Birkebeiner…a 54K marathon. Beautiful skiing and nice folks!

*pic snip*

That’s a lots of skiing! 😱

Have you participated in the Finlandia Ski Marathon or other races in the worldloppet thingy?

I've only done the American Birkebeiner. I've done it 9 times, though. I'd like to do the Finlandia race and Vasaloppet in Sweden someday. I ski alot! We actually skied about 150K total the week we were in Norway. It was pretty amazing.

My dad has done the Finlandia thing several times. Including the year I was born. I was born and like two days later he left to ski. My mom is still mad about it. 😅

150km definitely is a lot of skiing, no question about it.

And here I was feeling pretty good about myself for walking 45km during my trip. 😂 I did wear heels for every single meter of those 45,000 meters, though. Because I’m an idiot and never learn that high heels and not-so-high heels are two pairs of heels and neither of them are really meant for walking lots and lots.

My feet need a vacation.

The sport for you then?

Don’t know if they still do the Glamour Stiletto Run, though.
