What's your favorite type of sandwich?
What's the weirdest thing you like on a sandwich?

I looove a hot turkey sandwich made from Thanksgiving leftovers. I only get it once or twice a year, but I like it more than the actual Thanksgiving feast.

A weird sandwich that I like is grilled cheese & peanut butter. Sublime.

Since gossip abounds, let's talk about it generically.

Do you consider yourself a gossip? Would other people consider you one?
Do you ever censor yourself to a friend because they are known to gossip or are friends with someone who does?
How do you respond to people who phish for information? Have you ever purposely used gossip for your own means (ie to send an indirect message)?

I'm a half-gossip. I love hot drama and I'll absorb whatever anyone wants to tell me. But I also don't spread it around. I love knowing other peoples' business (that's kind of my job), but I try not to tell other peoples' stories.

Philly Style Cheese Steak with provolone, mushrooms, onions, bell peppers and marinara sauce...(Yes, I do like traditional style as well, but that is my favorite style)

Followed by Meatball

But then there is the classic Reuben from a Jewish Deli if possible...

but if you taunt me with a really good Cuban Sandwich...I am in real trouble

as for the weirdest? there was this place down the street from me, where the owner had done his research of "50's Style Car Hop Burgers". One that kept popping up in pictures of the menus was a "Peanut Butter Burger". Now his place made one change to the standard description, he added a hash brown patty to the sandwich. So essentially, just before the burger is done, you glop on a scoop of peanut butter, then add a square of fried hash brown, then cheese, and let it all melt together a little bit, then bun it up with lettuce, tomato, thousand island dressing. It was amazing how the peanut butter just seemed to add a level of "Beefiness" to the burger that you never knew it was lacking.

I'm not sure your heart could handle an Indie PLP sandwich ;)

But damn would that be on hell of a way to go...

Generally I don't give out information about other people if I can help it. Sometimes you have no choice, especially when having to explain a situation you are directly involved in, but I try to keep other people's involvement, if it will make for good gossip, to a minimum. Generally I try to avoid situations like that. I have seen the wreckage it can cause because someone intentionally used gossip as a weapon.
I have used gossip to weed out people I have gotten a bad feeling about. Purposely provided false information to a single individual, just to see if it ended up as being Watercooler Talk. If it didn't, then I let it go, but if it did, then I knew I could not trust that person with my privacy from there on out.

I don't consider myself a gossip. It's not something that I actively seek out. I won't deny that I enjoy an interesting story, but never with any sort of malicious intent associated with it. Have I shared my own experiences with select others in order to learn more about/process these experiences? Yes, but I don't consider that gossip.
I don't think others consider me a gossip.
Never censored myself with anyone, but have never been in a situation where I was worried that a friend would share the information.
I also have not had much of an issue with people who phish for info. I think I would tend to respond by asking them why they think they need to know this information about me or another person. I don't share things that have been told to me in confidence.
I have never used gossip for my own means. I think that I am just too direct for that kind of nonsense.

Is it possible to be someone who enjoys the occasional gossip without being labeled a "gossip"?

I enjoy the "Girrrrrrrrl, did you see what so and so posted on the 'Who's Up My Ass' thread?" pm as much as the next person. But I don't go out of my way to get into anyone's personal business. But a public meltdown on the threads? I'm kinda fascinated.

On a gossip scale of 1-10...I'd say I'm a 3.

Maybe to have a laugh with someone in private who i trust not to repeat anything thats discussed
And its a little bit of fun watching the drama from afar but not getting involved. So not sure if that makes me a gossip or not

Its a mixed bag for me.

In real life, I have seen too many lives ruined by gossip. Including very nearly my own. So I don't even spread "positive" rumors.

On Lit, I do discuss the juvenile behavior and (often manufactured) drama. I have not used gossip for my own means, but I have advised Litsters when they have been given false or misleading information (and I have received such warnings).

I'm not a gossip, but did you hear about all the people who are? PM me and I'll give you the filthy scoops ;)
Just kidding, I'd rather be run over by a steamroller than gossip.
Everyone talks about other people, that's standard behavior, but when it starts to feel like gossip I'm out
I'm not sure I would be friends with someone who gossips--obviously I'm talking about the negative type gossip.
Phishing for info will always get me to say something obnoxiously funny intended to make the phisher extremely uncomfortable for my own enjoyment :D
I have spread untrue rumors about myself for entertainment purposes.
And if anyone wishes to gossip about me please feel free, but make sure it's scandalous otherwise what's the point? :p

How comfortable are you sharing your first name with people on Lit? Do you find it odd that you may know someone's deepest kinks before you know their name?
Are their any Litsters who's username you prefer or seem more natural than their real names?

I share my first name often. As many as 400,000 people know my first name here, as I have shared it in the forums. My name is also the same as every 1 in 156 women in the United States, or 1 in near 100 from the 80s and 90s. I don't see it as an issue, except maybe if someone had a highly unique name. Hell, even my married last name is common. I am not going to hunt you down because I know your name is Joe, Bob, Fred, Mike, Jim, Matt, or Jeff and you are from California. If you actually know me in real life and on lit, well you wouldn't need my first name as confirmation, my pictures would have clued you in.

I find most people that I am regularly interacting with close their messages with their name once a few have gone back and forth, or tell me their name when I close mine with my name. I prefer knowing as interections increase but I don't ask as I don't want to push. I know the names of everyone that I interact heavily with.

I do not know anyone whose lit handle I prefer.

Very few people get a name out of me... I have shared a shortened version of my first name with a very small group of people, and I think only one has the unshortened version... I share an awful lot of myself on lit, and my name isn’t overly common - I’d be very easy to find if someone was determined enough.

No one has my full name - to my knowledge I am the only Brit with my name... if you google me, there is one other person on the other side of the world and someone dead 300 years... that’s it - the three of us... we should have a club...

I’d be less bothered if I just chit chatted here but given the ampics thread I take a very risk adverse approach to sharing info.

Salt and pepper
Cherry Coke

I respond with something brief and then move on. 'You'd have to ask them,' is a pretty good all-purpose phrase.
Nope

Mostly comfortable. I don't throw it out there willy-nilly, but I'm not super shy about it, either.

Does it feel odd, hm... sometimes it feels right to share my name early on, sometimes it feels right to wait. I go with my gut.

Lots of people call me Honey even after they know my real name. I let folks pick which they prefer.

I call Indie, Indie. And cookie, cookie. :)

You mean you’re called Bind-their-Kings-with-chains-and-their-nobles-with-links-of-iron too?

Well I think it's safe to say that anyone who has seen my username knows what my first name is. I'm okay with that. They don't know my last name anyway. :D

There are a few people on here that I know their first names, but it feels more natural for me to call them by their username when on Lit. If I was to meet them in person though, then I would call them by their first name.

Well except for PLIP. If I seen her in person, I would say, "Hey PLIP!" :D

It's funny. So many people think they know my real name but so few of them actually do. They know the nickname I go by here but no one, and I mean NO ONE, in my real life calls me that. Even the Litsters I've met in person, I tend to refer to them as their username. That's how you get to know someone, and that association is difficult to break.

I’m not really a gossip. More of an instigator for gossip. I enjoy the shit out of a breakdown. And boy will I throw some fuel on a fire when I see one happening. But I talk to very few people here and I’m about as Lit informed as a millennial is on the use of a rotary phone.

People would probably consider me one, because of how much I poke people. But they’d be wrong. I don’t know anything good. Just what I see, like that crazy ass girl on the Dear Lister thread the other day. I prefer public meltdowns to back alley gossip.

I don’t use gossip for my own means- like spreading it. I use it for my entertainment when I see it. Gossip can be mean. And hurtful.

When I see people phish for info I just ignore it. I don’t like that. I may tel them to mind their own damned business.

Not one of my friends is a gossip. So no. As I said, my circle is small (teehee). I trust all four of them.

Your pet dog, cat, sheep and gold fish don't really count as friends, Pmann. They really have no say in the matter. Just saying.:D

Eventually I will give someone I am PM-ing with my first name. People struggle with my username, and my actual name is so simple by comparison.

Some people here will always be their usernames. Especially those whose username sounds like a nickname.

Oddly enough, one Litster figured out where I live just by the things I said in our conversations.

I don’t consider myself a gossip. I try to avoid drama. However...if someone has some info that I would be better knowing than not ( ex: someone who is already talking to someone else but messaging me, or someone who has talked badly about me to others, but is being nice to my face), I really appreciate knowing that. I like the gossip that helps me avoid drama, if that makes any sense.

I’m paranoid sharing personal info, so if you know my name, you’re one of a selected few.
I don’t think it’s odd to know someone’s kinks before his or her name; we are on a sex website. Sharing interests is not really that unusual here.
Litsters who I’d call by their username rather than their real name: hmmm I think once I know someone’s real name, that sticks out to me most times. Maybe if I just learned their real name, I’d call them by their Lit name by habit.
