🎡 Monthly Song Challenge 🎡

Day 1: A song you play air guitar to:

It's so surprising that I'm playing catch up on this thread again. I am really, truly, going to do all I can to drop in here regularly in December. My gift to you all, and all that. πŸ™ƒ

ZZ-Top: Sharp Dressed Man - Oh man did I grow up on this stuff b/c of the records my dad had around the house. (And cassettes, too). Just a lot of really good riffs here, a solid solo, and a *ridiculous* video to put a bow on it.

Day 2 - A song by a Canadian band

It's a sign that I'm a loser that I was pretty excited that nobody else had posted a song by Our Lady Peace. They put out some total bangers in the late 90s and early 2000s, many of which still resonate in my head. Their videos were always a little heavy-handed for my taste, but the songs were always solid.

Day 3: A song from a band whose tshirt you have or had

Don't have the shirt anymore, must have been 20 years ago, but here's some HEL! I don't know if their genre exists outside of scandinavia, Viking Rock, but it's really fun to listen to πŸ₯° They write in a very archaic or traditional tone, the language they use isn't really heard in every day conversation.

HEL - Segerfylld Hemkomst (Victorious Homecoming)

At first I that you might have been referring to something like Scandinavian Black Death Metal.

But this was much more pleasant to the ears!

Day 3: A song from a band whose t-shirt you have or had

This song transports me to 2006 and my shitty little apartment and skytrain rides in Vancouver. I went to this show by myself because I had no one to go with and I bought myself a t-shirt to really romance myself on this solo date. It still fits if I don’t breathe πŸ˜‚

Neko Case does most of her own artwork, including the album cover and t-shirt design for Fox Confessor Brings The Flood, which is the album she was on tour for in β€˜06

Star Witness - Neko Case

Oh nonono, black metal can be fun in like a "let's go winter bathing" kind of way. But Viking Rock is many a stone throw away!

Then again, I do have a wonderful post-black metal viking group I listen to... Who make beautiful music. Maybe I'll post them tomorrow if a song fits πŸ₯°
