🎡 Monthly Song Challenge 🎡

I’m totally picturing middle school you with your hands in your hips demanding the DJ or band play Frank and every other kids in the school going β€œWTF?!?”
"WTF?!?" was one of my favorite reactions to elicit from my peers 🀣
I think you and @lavendersilk would have been and adorable and dangerous squad.
Passing notes and talking about boys? I can see it!

Day 19: A song you slow danced to at a school dance

All My Life - KC and JoJo

A dance wasted on the worst prom date in history. One day I'll dance again to this incredibly cheesy song with someone less shit. 🀭
Day 19: A song you (never)slow danced to at a school dance

Meh, I don't even like this song, but it def got a workout at our suburban ass, almost completely white HS.

I was planning to post this song!

Day 19: A song you slow danced to at a school dance
I only remember having one slow dance from school times and it was a middle school dance (6th grade, I think). Swaying awkwardly and glancing frantically at the door every couple seconds making sure one of our parents wasn’t there (because the dance was ending). I thought it was that song but it could have just as easily been this one so I’ll go this direction 🀣

I can’t hear this anymore without thinking of this!

Day 17: A protest song

So I was headed in a very different direction until I heard @PassionatePanther 's selection which took my brain to The Disposable Heroes of Hypocrisy.

P.S. @morelikeasong since you love this prompt, it could make a great future decades week theme. Soooo many protest songs.
Such a great song, covering Franti and Tse's own discordant, experimental original and turning it into a spoken word-style hip hop masterpiece. It is such a shame they never took off. Amazing song, amazing album.

Day 19: A song you slow danced to at a school dance.

As I said in yesterday's choice, I stopped asking girls to dance way before we got to the slow dances of my first junior high mixer. But there was a time I was sitting in the front seat while a girl reached out from the back of the car to hold my hand during this song on the radio. It worked for me.

"Just Once," Quincy Jones
