🧘🏼‍♂️🤾🏻‍♀️Getting Sweaty Again: The 3rd Circuit 🚴🏼‍♂️🏋🏼‍♀️

Hi @Love_Is_Blonde!

Nice to meet you too. This is actually my first time posting here, but been following for sometime.

Assault bike is the mother of all stationary bikes. It really kills you but it is also good for cardio
An assault bone gets my heart racing in ways that few other things can. It is exhausting and exhilarating.
I climb off of it and my legs feel like spaghetti noodles

Tell us more about how much you love your assault bone.

I just recently got back into my favorite hobby about 1.5 years ago. I had to take some time away because of life/work schedules conflicting with the local class schedules for said hobby.

This hobby is a combat sport that is very taxing on my much older body now so I’ve been trying to add a light strength and conditioning routine into my schedule for injury prevention. Starting slow with simple kettle bell movements and I’ve been trying to add more volume to my cardio with a rowing machine so my lungs aren’t as taxed on the mats.

Last night was derby! I had a blast. My inner thighs were screaming last night so I ended up doing some yoga stretching for about 30 minutes after I got home because I could barely move my legs lol.

I got a fist bump from the coach on some of my techniques which have improved since last week so that was validating :D . I am feeling more comfortable on quad skates on a slippery rink, compared to inline skates on the road. I love that the women in my group are from all walks of life, varied ages, shapes and sizes. These women as badasses and I'm looking forward to next week already! 🛼🛼

Ran 7 km this morning.. been running 21 (or more) km steadily every week this year.
Combined with HIIT, tabata and yoga on the intensive workout days.

Now if I only could lay off that silly habit of late night snacking, I would probably start to see some progress in the mirror as well. 🙈😅

You do know you look great, right?

In my opinion you look amazing! Your body is perfect!!

Worked out Friday and Saturday so I could get my three days of going to the gym goal. But yesterday morning was a fun one, because lots of other members brought their friends and family. So there were 35 of us (probably the biggest class I’ve ever attended) of all age groups and shapes and sizes. After the workout we all had coffee from the local coffee cart that was setup for us. I brought brownies that I baked in the morning. Had a small piece with my coffee and intentionally left it behind so I get an empty container this week 😆

Last night I earned my three week roller derby chip 😄. We worked on crossovers and transitions from skating forward to back, and back to forward on top of other skills we've been learning - two things I'm not awesome at but felt decent about before I left. I wish there was a rink closer to me to practice at instead of in my kitchen, but I'm having a blast and getting really sweaty in the process! The women I'm training with are amazing. They are all encouraging and supportive. So far it's been so much fun!

Skipped a run yesterday, which was just lazy. Finishing up my 5x5 workout and then headed out for a brisk dog walk before the rain hits in a couple hours. Scale doesn’t show it, but I’ve had to tighten my belt an extra notch this week.
Nice job! Scales mean nothing, it’s what’s in your pants that matters.
I mean . . . your belt is a better indicator than the scale. 👍

Nothing better than having fun and working up a good sweat...
