Photomanpulations...

That's some very cool work. How much of this have you done?

Quite a few, actually. I have an old, old, dusty site at http://www.littlebabes.com with a few examples. (log in for more.)

I have that specific print image at my zazzle.com store (which I actually use as a graphics tool when I want to "frame" a thumbnail - every artist needs an account here, I'm serious. CHEAP canvas prints! And their framing prices - they beat the local artist's superstore by a fair bit.

I'm attaching an example of a print I have there - this image was generated by their framing program.

Also attached is a detail from that print I showed you; pretty close to original res. As you can see, they take server-busting filesizes. Handy. You can ditch that "zazzle" thing, but their zooms are big enough to be worth swiping, (as I just did) so I don't.

http://www.zazzle.com/contributors/home/default.asp?cid=238308253102024501 1 leads to my gallery. You have to log in with a credit card to view the R-rated stuff, which is paranoid, but it means I can splash my url anywhere and it's cool - I can give it out to 12 year olds and they'll never see my kinky stuff.

Quoting in full because it should end up in your email.

Recently I had 12 of each of the these two illustrations produced as Giclees that someone wanted to purchase from me. Just before the end of the transaction I figured out that this person was comitting credit card fraud and I cancelled the transaction to protect myself.

Now I have 12 of each of these two illustrations for sale to the general public. They are giclees, and to help sell them off I'm doing two things with them.

The first is that I'm cutting the original selling price dramatically from my usual selling price. These will be $50.00 each + $5.00 for the Priority Mail anywhere within the US, and with shipping TBA anywhere outside the US.

The second thing that I'm doing is hand-signing and numbering each one of these to make them into an extremely limited edition run of prints.

I can accept Pay Pal or take Visa and Master Card directly (I prefer taking them directly because of the Pay Pal fees, but it's up to the buyer).

If anyone is interested please feel free to PM me.

Thanks.

I'd love to have one of each, but I don't have a hundred bux to spare. But they deserve to find good homes.

Please join graphictruth.com and upload these to the album area. Use the text above as description for the album, and then give each image their own description.

(these are R-Rated items. If you have PG-rated items that you'd like to put in an album, either to sell or just show off, you can do that as well, and select "announcements" as the topic. They will then rotate on the front page, top left corner. You may not link within the text to anything that could get me busted or lose me my space tho.)

I will take it from there. Members will get this offer, and I'll send it out in a newsletter as well. It's not a lot, but it's free! :p

zazzle.com offers what seem to be glicee prints and some of the most impressive-looking framing on the web. Unfortunately, I can only judge by looks; I've not had the ability to have a print done and framed. However, if you have the disposable cash, I would seriously suggest giving them a try; prices are VERY competitive, and the real kicker is this; your art is exposed to a wider audience in a agency model. In other words, you are paid a fee for the use of your art on products that the customer chooses out of a range you define. No hassles such as above, so you can concentrate on the art.

By the way, both of these images would work very, very well on tee-shirts. While I use various services for making shirts, the only one I'm absolutely confident in is cafepress. They use a dye sublimation process and it holds up like iron. I would seriously, seriously suggest making a few shirts with your name and contact information and just wearing them, or giving them to friends. And hell, they might just sell like hotcakes!

They also offer dye-sub ceramics, and again, I can attest to the quality, which is amazing. Tiles, mugs, ceramic tile boxes (amazing), circular and oval ornements, all of which will take the highest quality images. My art just glows when applied and I'm begging them for larger formats.

Bumperstickers are in the range of, well better than I expected for the price.
Same for buttons and magnets. The licence plate frames (great for rolling self-promotion) are excellent... but in this case, fine detail is pretty much wasted.

Cafepress offers a limited range of archival framed prints as well, based in the range of $30-$40 bucks.

Considering the prices of framing... that is a serious bargain. I have NOT reviewed these, but it might well be worth a try. You have to have a shop, though.

If anyone wants to try this out and dosen't want to be beholden to cafepress, I'd be happy to set up prints of your art for you. If interested, ask, and I'll send the details. No charge, no strings, no overhead; you pay for the print and shipping. But then, you would anyway. :p

And I get the option of a copy. :p Just so you don't think I'm bein' suspiciously altruistic! :p

My referral id: http://www.cafepress.com/cp/info/storeref.aspx?refby=webcarve

Referrals give me %5 of your sales, which comes out of CP's pocket, not yours.

Or to check it and even join up without giving up data:

http://www.cafepress.com/webcarve - my store, which is neither the best looking nor the worst - it's something of a frowzy clutterpile - but shows what can be done with a paid account.

I think of it as really, really, really cheap high-bandwidth webspace. In fact it generally covers it's own costs plus other webspace costs, while keeping me in t-shirts. Profit is gravy, and I can use it as a photobucket. I personally hate the "free" image servers because of their bandwith limits.

Thanks for the info, King. I've actually tried getting into GraphicTruth a couple of times and something went wrong each time. I haven't tried again, but will. Still checking out the other places you mentioned. Thanks for the info.

OK, maybe this is not the right place but I need to vent somewhere.

I BOUGHT A GENUINE PAINTING!!!

I had my eye on the painter for a long time and when I gave a party for my 50th birthday everybody chipped in so I could buy one of her paintings. Today I went to her new exhibition and I did it. I bought one of her paintings.

Wooohooo!

Help! How the heck do you submit an illustrated poem or story anyway???

I use to have that very subject saved in my favorites. But now I can't seem to find it, and I'm not finding it in Lit's FAQ section either. As I remember it, you place the illustrations in the body of the text where you want it, then you submit it as an upload with the text "illustrated poem" in the notes field.

I'm not completely sure at this point, though. It would probably be best to ask Laurel or Manu directly just so get the right info.

Love your current AV, by the way.

I always draw it freehand, then scan it in and use the old fashion windows Paint to edit and color it.

This is a small section of the original drawing that shows clearly how I work. I wish I could show you the whole thing but the attachments manager is very picky with how big an attachment must be.

Very cool. Old fashioned illustration mixed with contemporary media. What other types of work have you done? Any examples?
