Female centric stories

12 pages in, and I still have no idea what "female centric" means.

This was pointless and a huge waste of my time to read.

With all respect to Omeinien, I've always had the same difficulty with the Pink Orchid parameters.

So. I just write. If the women in my stories seem interesting, I've succeeded.

It's almost like people use these threads to post whatever random stuff rather than discussing the topic. ;)
You've cracked the code, I think all that really matters on the forum is if the threads are 'so and so centric' and dominated by the same small group that has to crash every thread regardless of topic and immediately make it about jokes or themselves and start conversations between each other in the middle of other conversations.

When that happens, all is well here. Discussions are allowed as long as they exist in between and around the more important people's antics and posts.

But @KittyOfSteele is right, a lot of spinning wheels with no real answer because more often than not the only right answer is what's right for the individual author and no one can tell you otherwise. If something someone said here resonates with you, that's fine, if not it's all noise

So says you. Men are programmed to have sex with 85% of the women in any room. It is us women who decide who gets to procreate.
Only 85%?

Though I suggest that this does not make us mere males any less complex, just a different sort of complexity.

Men are simple when it comes to sex but complicated in other ways. I can totally accept that answer.

I can say from experience this isn't true. This some sort of weird-ass red pill shit?
Yes. I am the sexy girl from the matrix whose name I do not remember. If you take the blue pill you can continue to live your life comfortably believing it is real, but if you take the red pill I will load an enclopedia into your brain and then let you fuck me.

There is a real answer, but it's very basic and simple, and makes a great blank page for people to fill with their biases and agendas.

Female centric means exactly what it says; centered on the female. That's value neutral. If a story is primarily about a female character or centered on an issue that predominantly affects women, it's female centric. It doesn't matter if the protagonist is a good person or not, or if the men in the story are saints or monsters. The author's gender is irrelevant, as is their perspective. A story about a woman who hates other women or submits to an abusive man is still female centric.

If your answer to the question "What is this story about?" stats with "It's about a woman who..." it's female centric. Everything else is just commentary.

I hang out with my husband and our boyfriend, both of whom would agree that when it comes to sex they are simple to turn on and easy to please.
And as we know, two dudes are a good sample size to ascribe characteristics to all men. I know two dudes who like rocky road ice cream, so all guys must like it.

I know more than two men. Joe and Mark are on the complicated side and they are still pretty simple sexually.

And I'm on that side of things. Kiss principle in action.

Where some of this spun off is the argument that if a guy writes a story about a woman its not female centric because they're not women. Then they start using words like authentic and how all this kicked off for me, was someone telling someone they can't write the story they wanted to for those reasons.

So going back to my reply that you quoted, every author has to come to conclusion on their own and how they feel and think. Can't speak for everyone but I think if you pop quizzed every author here "what's a female centric story" the answer will be yours "Um, its about a woman."

Everything else is argumentative smoke

Which is what the interwebz is built upon.

Nobody said you can't write it, or that you shouldn't write it. All I said is I think I could tell it was written by a guy. That's not telling you what to do. And I softened my view once other people said you can study and learn without experiencing things directly. I had not considered that and I stand corrected.
