Female Lit authors: How much unsolicited sexual advances have you dealt with as a result of your writing?

This thread made me think of a real blast from the past.

To any female poster here, if you don't recall when Handsinthedark was on this board consider yourself fortunate. By far the most disturbing creep that ever appeared in this forum.

So you admit that the place has gotten better. ;)

I get solicitations from time to time - only three were through story feedback via email. They were fairly respectful invitations with contact info and messages to the effect of “we have a lot in common message me if you’re interested…”

On the forum my avatar has attracted salacious comments - for myself I admit that’s part of the point. I like that kind of attention, it’s definitely part of my many kinks though I’ve got some conflicting feelings and thoughts about it.

On one hand I don’t think it’s right to say someone deserves a certain kind of attention because of how they present, while on the other hand I like the attention I get when I present provocatively.

Presenting in a non-gender conforming way adds other complications as well. There have been a few guys who hit me up for sex chat who didn’t seem to get that I’m not cis fem until I spelled it out.

another shoutout to proton mail - I migrated there from gmail after one too many "fuck you you can't log in because you're from a new ip address and we're going to force you to doxx yourself to gain access"

Proton is very low effort. I like it.
+1 for Protomail

Over the years I have had a few quirky situations, although very rare considering the amount of time I have been on lit.

I’ve had at least a dozen dicks sent to me, even more if you include my Twitter.
I’ve been offered to go down and meet people, mostly men, but a couple of times couples or women on likely a dozen occasions.
I’ve been told I’m a slut, a bitch, going to bell and more.

In the end, like Twitter, it’s an open forum and it happens.

I cannot imagine a fate more dire than going to (taco) bell. You have my condolences. 😭

I really don't understand the thought process here.

"Here's photo of my cock! Want to have sex?"
"No thanks."
"You don't want to have sex with me? You must be a slut!"

I've only had one dick pic in my life, which was from Lit. (No, I'm not feeling the lack!)

I did get a lot of guys saying they liked my stories and they would submit to me and do 'anything' I wanted. Oddly, this was before I wrote any femdom stuff, and my BDSM stories all had a female bottom/sub...

Invariably the conversation went "OK then, read (my most recent story) and tell me what you think."
"No, not like that." There were a few exceptions, when someone actually did read a story.

It got to the point I removed my sex from my profile, which has got rid of 95% of contacts, but now over 50% of contacts are reasonable communicators, not just wanting to get off from sending dirty messages to a woman.

Post Modern Dick Pics.

Kinda like Post Modern Jukebox, but instead of remaking new songs in old styles, they take High Def dick pics and make them out of focus and grainy.
