Hi Tal :)

How’s NYE prep going?

Prepping for the actual year is going well, tonight - well, it'll be a quiet one for me. Sofa, film, hubby, and then bed, I reckon. We've done NY in lots of different ways over the years but as I get older, it's much more take-or-leave now.

How about yourself?

*Goes and collapses on the sofa.*

The meds are working! :D

Woohoo! I think I might treat myself to a couple of slices of toast, and a pomegranate green tea now :D

Right, I'm going to disappear before I fall asleep.

I hope everyone has a very happy evening and an amazing start to 2018. :)

Tal  Speak to you later :)

Heading off out after lunch with the kids while the weather is good. Going to a house party tonight so should be lots of fun.

Have a good one everyone! Say bye bye to 2017 in style :)

Ha! My husband also conveniently forgets that our life-styles don't actually support such a way of living. It would only be used a meagre handful of times a year. Totally not financially viable. I would love to see our financial adviser's face if he brought it up, though :D
So that's how the stupid Scooby Doo gang advert for Halifax makes sense! They're seeking a loan to purchase a new "Mystery Machine" and they're proposing a business plan based on covering 30 haunted houses, 20 ghost trains and 15 abandoned mines every year.
.

happy new year Tal, come and join me ;) xx

You know I'd love to

:D I really dislike those adverts lol. I also dislike adverts that encourage older people to basically sell their mortgage-free homes so that they can release a fraction of the equity for holidays, cars, and helping their grandkids. In fact, I have issues with a lot of adverts. But I'll shut up now

Well, I thought it was time I got a place of my own! After all, being a big gobshite, I should really have a dedicated thread where I can ramble on and on to my stone heart's content.

Everyone is welcome, new friends and old. If you know me, then you might suspect how I can banter. If you don’t know me yet… I hold no responsibility for what might be said or done to you in this unsafe space.

So, here I go.

Close your eyes, and press the button, Tal. I'm sure Brainy will be along in a moment... :D
WHOA! I take a LIT break and come back to find you have your on thread! bout time!

Oh yes. At least two a week. I'm also big into doing the dance moves along to the film - it gets me funny looks in the cinema.

**All of the above MAY be lies.**

Ha! I know it's not lies at all. So fucking cultured.

Ha! I know, right? It's like the world went crazy!

So pleased to see you again

My biggest personal dislike is the one that shows a guy representing a "no win, no fee" law firm speaking to camera, being patronising and verbally abusive to his potential clients: "What do you mean, you haven't sought compensation for your PPI payments? You're a lazy fucking idiot!" (or something close to that). I guess at least they're showing their true colours up front.

Lol, yeah. I just dislike the way that any adverts re: money seem to advocate using debt to go on holiday - as though a holiday is a right. It's not. It's a luxury. Everyone has a right to fair work/life balance, but that's it. So many things that people honestly believe they're entitled to.

Stop ranting Tal!!! FFS :D

I find many of the car ads offensive. One is about someone doing a Black Friday sale and getting a deal and the neighbor says oh I saved more and got an SUV..that's right everyone wants to make their neighbor look stupid!

WTF? A work ethic... on LIT? Will wonders never cease... (oh, BTW, I love it)

Lol, exactly. It's all about keeping up with the Joneses, sadly many, many people fall for it.

Do you know that I've actually been criticised because my boys don't own an ipad each to themselves? We have one tablet that they take turns on during Tech Time. Not because we can't afford it, but because I believe that kids shouldn't be plugged in just cos they can be. Taking turns, and learning patience is actually important.

:D I know. This is very heavy stuff, when I'm talking about my boobies on another thread. See, dudes? Multi-tasking.
