the mens club thread

Last Night was the red wings party for the season ticket holders and they televise it ..Each wing takes the stand and describes what their season was like Darren macarty and steve dushane were the funny ones and Federov was the surprized one because when Scotty gave his finale speech he said of all the players he played with he was proudest of Federov it may have not been in those exact words but it was there ..Scotty showed some emotions last night I do not think I have seen in 9 years from him you could tell he was sad he was leaving the thing he loves most behind...All in All it was pretty cool but tended to drag on after awhile...I am hearing that The Steelers are looking at Charlie Batch for there Q.B. but I warn you right now the guy sucks and you do not want him he gets injured every time he has the ball.:)

WOO HOO...thanks Rosie. Was it good for you too???

Ok, so did anyone get to watch the Yankees-Mets series over the weekend? Just getting some thoughts on what went down on Sat with Clemens. I think the Mets did what they had to do. Granted they didn't hit him, but the intention was there. And I will give Roger his credit (as much as it pains me to do so) He did stand there and take it. He made absolutely no effort to get out of the way of the pitch...even before it went just behind him. I think it caused him more pain to give up a HR to a pitcher, and then ANOTHER one to Piazza.

Any comments?

Mel it was mind blowin for me. Glad you had fun too!

No sorry I didn't follow that series. I was busy with the US Open tournament. When I wasn't watching that I was checking in on the Dodger/Angel Series and marvelling at how truly UGLY the Angels new uniform is. And how fat that orange shirt made Mike Scoisa look!!

I was relieved and proud of the Mets the way they handled Saturday's game. The press was relentless in hyping this thing up, and it was so much more rewarding to see Piazza and Estes get their homers, and have the team win two out of the three games! Mike showed a lot more class after the game as well. Hope Clemen's "injury" won't keep him out of the rotation.

Ok now what.. I do not watch Baseball I hate soccer it is to boring I just do not see the ecxitement in it that others do all that running for nothing and then after a few hours there might have been a goal scored or whatever terms they use.. I di watch some golf with my dad and I found it to be not as boring as soccer but I am a bandwagoner because I only like to watch tiger play..oh well I will have to wait til october for my fun again and hopefully we will keep Dom around and repeat again...

UH OH.... only thing left is to join your local chapter of H.F.A. (Hockey Fan's Anonmymous)... Or Watch Espn Classic... Good Luck Knightstalker... *hug*

Actually what is bugging me is Dom won't say if he is retiring or not and there are alot of people chewing there nails around here hoping he comes back but if he doesn't I think we will get Cujo so that wouldn't be to bad a thing either..Ok here is a little story you may or may not have heard but it was a nice story and I thought I would share it with you all..Sometimes our most important statements are not made by words..

Jackie Robinson was one of the first African Americans to break the color barrier in major league baseball, and it wasn't easy During his first season, hefaced hostilitynearly everywhere he went, both on and off the field..

During one game in Brooklyn, the taunts and racial slurswere becoming more intense..To make matters worse,Robinsonmade an error..So there he stoodat second base, humiliated, while fans hurled insults at him..

Then another Dodger,A southern white guyby the name of Pee Wee Reese, called a time out..he walked over to Robinsonand,as the crowd wondered what was happening, quitley put his arm around his friends shoulder..The fans grew quit..

Robinson later said that arm around his shoulder saved his career and ,as we all know he became one of baseballs all time greats..

Whats the point of this story that none of us as individuals can change society but there are occasions when an arm around a shoulder doesn't hurt:D

Don't know sports but.............

I could serve drinks can't I................I would love to do that.

Hey KS, I'm usually a non soccer fan to but I have to admit seeing the US get this far has been nice....I still think it's boring sport to watch but it'd be better if we started winning at it....:D

I see you serve tea and coffee but what I really want is an icy cold Bud...Put it in a frosted mug also please..Hey Shaq I am slowly getting into the soccer thing my 9 year old is trying to get me to watch it more because that is the sport he plays..With America winning it is a little more interesting and I shall keep an eye out on them and watch some games but if they loose I am jumping off the bandwagon..

Still no word on Dom but I think Igor larionov and Steve dushene are coming back now if dom does and we can keep chellious we should be looking good for another cup next year..

It looks like Pittsburg picked up Charlie Batch bad move on there part god does he suck...Poor herman Moore is left out in the cold and thats a shame because I think he still has a few good years left in him..Oh well thats all for now take care all and have a great day:)
