I would probably come up with a proposal to get a salary cap instituted, and I would also try to get all teams a little closer in terms of revenue. Whether that be by revenue sharing or what, but it just is amazing the difference between the top teams and the bottom.

I am not sure Roger Clemens would like that rule very much. I am hoping he has to play at Shea (against the Mets), and I really hope that someone beans him...not necessarilly in the head, that is pretty unsportsmanlike, but that he gets hit somewhere...

I like the DH, pitchers pitch, and hitters hit. You don't see A-Rod pitching? In my mind, pitchers get paid to pitch. You can use pitchers for pinch running purposes, because there are some pitchers who are good athletes (Mike Hampton). I like how it is different in the two leagues, it makes it more of a challenge in the playoffs. I really wish that the All-Star game had importance, with the league that wins the All-Star game getting home-field for the World Series, or something that give them reason to play that game seriously.

My opinion:
The DH suxs...it changes the game. Aside from the fact that pussies like Clemens don't have to hit, it affects the overall strategy of the game as well.
A tie game in the bottom of the 6th or 7th and your pitcher is up to bat...does the manager yank him and go with a pinch hitter, which would also mean going to the bullpen. The American League managers aren't faced with such a choice.
The DH allows the over the hill, injury prone guys that are one dimentional to continue playing. What other sport lets you substitute a guy in to do part of your job...? The DH suxs.
My very good friend and college roomate pitches for the Pittsburgh Pirates this year. He has also pitched for the St. Louis Cardinals and Chicago WhiteSox, and he says the grand majority of the players think the DH suxs too.
Just an FYI...there will be a strike this year before post-season, count on it. This season is shaping up exactly like 1994, exactly. If I could recommend one very good book if you are interested in the financial, power and other aspects of baseball behind the scenes, it is:
Lords of the Realm, and I dont recall the author's name right off hand but he also co-wrote Barbarians at the Gate? This book is a scrutinizing look at the 100 year history of baseball and the finances that have run it. I will post more on this book when I can locate my copy around here.

I do not hunt but thank all my friends who do because they keep me feed with some tasty meat ..I love deer and rabbit...The reason I do not hunt is the few times I went I sat in rainy weather all freaking day and didn't even get to shoot my rifle off so I think i will leave it to the hunters to hunt and I will enjoy what they hunt ...I won't say anything about your hockey team the bruins ecxept Detroit wants Lapoint back and the rangers are trying to buy the cup don't they know Detroit has already bought it this year ..Tonights game will rock and should make even a non hockey fan appreciate the game ...If the wings lose tonight they will have to come and take me away in a sttraight jacket I swear I am all nervous and jittery over this stupid game ..Oh well Go Wings

What a great night for sports!. Game 7 for the Wings and the Avs and two possible elimination games in the NBA. I was up in Toronto last week and I couldn't believe how hockey crazy everyone was. I agree with you KS - a Toronto-Detroit Cup would have been awesome! I lived in Colorado when the Avs won their first championship but I was a Wings fan growing up so GO WINGS!
I am a much bigger basketball fan now. The two series have both been great. Last year's NBA playoffs was easier on the heart but even I have to admit (as a big Lakers fan) that this year is more interesting. I really hope both series go to a game 7 and may the best team win!! I just hope the refs let them play. No team should have their best player sitting on the bench in a close game.
