What Are You Listening To Now? 6.0

The Weeknd - Blinding Lights
https://youtu.be/4NRXx6U8ABQ

One of the few current pop songs I can stand. But that's no surprise, seeing as he's blatantly ripping off a-ha (rhythm) and a big swath of '80s pop artists, so it's probably because I've heard that song somewhere before, done better.

Auto Reconnaissance

The Tangent

New release Friday - several neat new releases including this one

Reckoning

Moon Machine

New trio out of Boston - one pretty good song so far, the rest of the album hits some time in November

Rick Wakeman - Journey To The Centre Of The Earth (A&M vinyl 1974)

Great album. I saw him perform it live in the early '80s. Great show!

I've seen him live several times since, and a friend of mine interviewed him last week to quiz him about his latest album.

Dummy - Portishead (1994 Go Beat! vinyl)

Because occasionally I feel the need for introspective, navel-gazing trip-hop

Seven

Magenta

Is that the one with 7 songs about the 7 deadly sins?

Notwithstanding what I said about Magenta earlier, I do like the concepts they usually apply to each album.

I'll spin several of their albums in the coming days - I hope they change my mind.

They were very good at ROSfest all those years ago.
